Great people with a lot of experience and patience. The interns generally work on the more "fun" R&D projects.

The projects for the full-timers did not seem as exciting.

    Pros

The compensation is good and comperable to other companies. Employees are able to advance their skills thru the company portal.

    Cons

Management doesn't follow thru with the necessary actions to complete the job. Employees and management are not usually on the same page.

    Advice to Management

Hire qualified management to maintain the efficiency of its projects.

    Pros

Corporate and Project Leadership are supportive and enthusiastic. Overall feeling that the company will continue to do well. A GOOD small company experience. Management tries to do the right thing for employees and clients.

    Cons

Poor HR support, difficult to get answers to basic questions. Benefits may not be comparable with competition. Benefit and compensation model is dated. As with many small contractors, company may not be able to offer a career path for employees as contracts end.

    Advice to Management

Continue to be supportive of your employees. Improve HR support. Update compensation and benefit model. Consider asking employees what benefits matter most, and adjust accordingly.

    Pros

Good President to work for in Cyber Security Industry.
The is Pretty Good. Very Good Christmas Parties Everyone shares the end of year revenue. Your are rewarded for being a dedicated employee.

    Cons

Employee 401K Processes for matching is not clear.. Contract based so if there is know contract there is know job which is the case with all contracting jobs. Communication gaps are apparent in some areas of business.

    Advice to Management

Make sure that there is a strong Human Resources Team in place. Employ a true mentorship program and try not to be so obvious with opinions on hiring prior military people.

I worked at SuprTek full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pizza Fridays. Drinks and snacks provided to staff for free. Hotel company holiday parties. Weekly company / contractor conference calls to review company progress. General staff is like a little family and will celebrate employee events with the whole office (ex: birthdays, baby showers).

    Cons

Compensation is fair enough if you need work, but all staff below the executives are underpaid. Some of the management is incompetent, condescending and extremely unprofessional at times. By unprofessional I mean HR gossips and leaves sensitive files unlocked with public access, when attempting to address with management HR recants everything. As with any company there were employee favorites who could get away with anything.

    Advice to Management

Do not treat your employees like they're disposable. Respect staff and treat them like the adults they are.

Focus on building a corporate structure versus that of a get rich quick methodology.

    Pros

Modest health benefits, leave is ok

    Cons

Poorly ran company - everyone is either in denial or is trying to scam the employees. Clients are not happy with end results.

    Advice to Management

Begin the process of staffing early on and hire good people. Those with any skills are looking elsewhere - the one's that stay cant make it in the real world. Just a matter of time before all collapses.

I have been working at SuprTek full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

In my experience the owners and upper management try very hard to communicate well with their employees. It is not unusual for the owners to call in to conference calls and explain things directly to bottom rung employees.

Benefits have improved in the last couple years. A few years ago the company switched from an employer-paid health plan which to a PPO that is more well-known and easy to find doctors in-network, pays very well on prescription drugs, and includes medical and dental. 401K and other benefits, bonuses, have improved in the last couple years too. It is nice to work for a company that is improving benefits instead of taking them away as many companies are being forced to do.

As a small, minority-owned business, they can bid on many contracts that are closed to bigger companies. They also often partner with larger companies on big contracts.

    Cons

As a small company they may sometimes be limited on career advancement opportunities, but they try their best.

    Advice to Management

Keep demonstrating that you care about the careers of your employees.
