I have been working at Sutherland full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I cant remember anything real good. Am glad I left

    Cons

i worked for sutherland global Jamaica for 2yrs, they pay $280 (JA dollars) that will be taxed. They promise incentives but I never received any. They dont request your religion you have to show up for work anyway whether you worship on Sat or Sun. They will paint a picture of moving up but I hardly see people being promoted. They hire Stupid Manager who dont give a crap. You work as robot. Always your words again theirs and they alway win.

    Advice to Management

Do the sale reps a favor and quit

I worked at Sutherland as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

    Flexible working hours, great benefits

    Cons

Management is atrocious. Working here is like being in high school. No professionalism.

    Advice to Management

Hire management who are not using others as scapegoats and who do not credit their own staff for a job well done.

I worked at Sutherland part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Can't think of one single thing! I would give it 0 stars but it would not allow me.

    Cons

This was by far the worst, most unorganized, demeaning job I ever had! The management talks down to people constantly. I merely took this job as seasonal employment but can't understand how people could be able to work here longer than that. They are all robotic idiots thinking they are higher than thou. We sold popcorn for goodness sakes people. Get a grip! Company is so poorly run, constantly screwing up people's orders and we were told to tell the customer's they may still receive an order when they knew plain and simple that wasn't going to happen. I had a really hard time lying to customers who were relying on gifts getting to their family by a specific holiday. Sutherland could care less!

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, take their advice and suggestions as they are front line to your customers! Stop hiring or promoting managers who have zero integrity lines and absolutely no employee relation skills. Pathetic place, really! Schedules changed literally daily so you had to be checking in every day/night after your shift ended to see if it changed for the next day. Need an open door policy that you adhere to.

I worked at Sutherland (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great team spirit among coworkers. Almost an extended family. Over a year after my departure some of my best friends are people I met at sufferland.

    Cons

Support from the top is beyond awful. This company has huge centers in third world countries. I think they lose sight of the fact that Americans aren't willing to be treated as badly as people in developing countries. Employee turn over is stunningly high. Average tenure is 6 months. Company is constantly recruiting and training new hires because they can't keep any one. Wages are low and middle management is powerless.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people answering your phones. Talk to the humans who are making you rich before you make decisions that negatively affect them. I remember when you decided you would no longer be supplying coffee in our offices. I was a supervisor at the time. All of a sudden I have people sneaking out left and right to go to starbucks while on the clock. You may have saved 150k in coffee expenses but I watched you loose 3 times that in loss of performance.

I worked at Sutherland (More than a year)

    Pros

-decent benefits for full time employees
    -work from home

    Cons

-lots of empty promises for potential advancement in the company
    -pressure for high volumes
    -lack of transparency
-discontinuation of the LEAD program (management education curriculum)
    -employees are seen as dispensable
-was a top performing employee but let go due to "budget issues" no notice and no severance pay, I lost my insurance within a week

    Advice to Management

I don't really have any advice. I'd like to see how everything works out for you guys once you've completely outsourced every position to some 3rd world country.

I have been working at Sutherland full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company has no pros at all.

    Cons

The absolute worst job ever, very unorganized, hard to move in different programs and the center is extremely unprofessional. You can never get in touch with the HR department because they always tell the receptionist to say that their busy. Manager don't know anything about the job, they can't even give you info on taking a medical leave, company makes it hard for advancement s well.

    Advice to Management

Free current staff and hire all new associates.
