I have been working at Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Epic software program for charting is great. Friendly work culture. Good benefits. Multiple work sites in East Bay allows for custom commute.

    Cons

Salaries for PA's and NP's are under market. Work load is high compared to compensation.
Corporate culture from Sacramento is Midwestern in philosophy.

    Advice to Management

Raise salaries for PA's and NP's or we will continue to lose primary care clinicians to other organizations who offer the same benefits and higher compensation.

I worked at Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent Benefits, wonderful physicians and Nurses working alongside staff, Sutter takes care of their employees with perks like health week and motivational weeks.

    Cons

Very slow growth pace, room for advancement but it takes months for anything to happen, direct supervisor was unapproachable at times and would get upset if things were not done in her favor, updates need to happen, very old equipment being used in an unsafe manner, employees who have worked there a long time have become complacent and aren't motivated at all.

    Advice to Management

motivate and promote hardworking staff, find ways to actually make incentives work, proactively engage staff, problem staff should go.

I have been working at Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Growth opportunities are available. Most times managers try to hire from within. Benefits are good. (After all you work in healthcare, and medical benefits are the best perk.)

    Cons

Site supervisors and managers can be "checked out". Offer little support and are often not present. Overworked, underpaid, employees, with managers encouraging staff to take on more. You can feel de-valued by management.

    Advice to Management

Support employees by taking a hands on approach. Be present and engaged with your staff. Advocate for them and follow through. At times it can feel as if you are on an island with little support. Frequently show appreciation and that you value your team. It goes a long way!

I have been working at Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The treatment and value of you as a employee depends on which site you are placed. LUCK OF THE DRAW.
    Medical benefits are good.

    Cons

Management lacks the skill necessary to manage, distant, ineffective, useless, and do not have medical backgrounds. Some are even medical assistants.
    Human resources is a joke!!
Vacation, paid holidays, and sick days are all in one bank. You can never get ahead

    Advice to Management

Clean house and start over with sincerity and compassion in mind.
"Me plus you" yeah right. Maybe try borrowing a slogan like " Hello Human Kindness" and actually meet the standard

I have been working at Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Awesome benefit package as well as locations. They are all across the Bay Area and expanding. Offers EAP program. The reviews are decent.

    Cons

PTO is all in one bucket. So you work to earn the hours and pay yourself out. Productivity reports are due every Friday in my department.

  10. "Meh"

    Pros

A learning experience. A good stepping stone.

    Cons

Hiring for the wrong personalities for their departments. Upper Management needs an overhaul. Don't expect to see results until the issue has blown way out of proportion.
