    Pros

I worked at Sutter Health full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Some of the people who work in the service level are hard working good people. They have a nice break room in one of the Mather sites?

    Cons

The senior leadership staff at Sutter Health Information Services is horrible. There is no strategy, leadership cohesion or structure. Due to the lack of professional leadership, middle managers and staff are constantly stepping on each other to garner visibility or promote self importance. So far from company mission values/statements, unprofessional and borderline hostile work environment. Sadly much work is needed and will not get done efficiently because of poor management. The staff turn over is significant and is not addressed because human resource bears no importance. There are many key roles and most leadership roles that are occupied by people with little, no or not related experience. Roles are filled based by leadership favorites rather the right candidate for the role in an alarmingly blatant manner, truly discouraging.

    Advice to Management

Sadly management doesn't care, any advise is simply lost.

I have been working at Sutter Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Salary and benefits are competitive. Nice perks for other positions within the company. Mostly friendly people throughout company. Medical industry is strong and stable.

    Cons

Very little room for growth if any. Review process does not produce motivation or results . Frequent management issues. Open door policy illusion.

    Advice to Management

Promote cross training and growth for employees. Perks or bonus system for production results. Stop producing production halting bottlenecks by trusting in employees to do their job and possibly others if not being completed.

I have been working at Sutter Health full-time

    Pros

Co workers are amazing!! They really do hire the best and brightest here.

    Cons

Management doesn't listen. Workload is overwhelming. NO Continuing education funds for their employees!! (a big pet peeve of mine). They don't care about you as a person, as long as you add to the bottom line

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Provide them the means to educate themselves, so that they can remain up to date in their field.

    Pros

Awesome benefits and pay for most staff

    Cons

Constantly reorganizing. Leadership does not practice what they preach. Too many staff suffering from stress and burnout

    Advice to Management

Trust your staff to do their jobs. Stop with the micromanaging. Spending so much time on goal planning takes away from the time to do our actual jobs.

    Pros

Good people. Management is always willing to help and providing opportunities for feedback.

    Cons

Call center environment. Customers can be hard to deal with. Quality is always docking you for something on phone calls no matter how hard you try. They don't make a lot of exceptions.

    Advice to Management

Have quality assurance be more flexible.

    Benefits, and that's about all.

    Cons

Salary, lack of flexibility, leadership does not listen or care about their employees.

    Advice to Management

Ask employees if they have any concerns and really listen. The front line employees are frustrated.

    Cons

Hard to move up if you dont know the right people. You can be the best in the field but if you're not friends with leadership, forget about getting ahead.

    Advice to Management

Try to hire and promote by merit and not by friendship
