    Pros

Good people who work together and care

    Cons

Over the course of 4-5 months went through three interviews for a senior role in communications ... then had to wait for over 3 more months to find out anything. The human resources is sorely lacking in efficiency and they don't seem to have a measured or effective method for recruiting diverse talent.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to bring more people to interview panels that are not already in silos and/or necessarily working within the department where the applicant will work. Sutter needs perspective to see the forest for the trees. I am back at Kaiser Permanente and very happy. They know how to recruit diverse talent.

I have been working at Sutter Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Definitely care about the patients and families we serve. Excited to see where the new brand takes us. Looking forward to the new Sutter Health website.

    Cons

There's way too many projects and changes happening at once and therefore the work-life balance is a bit off.

    Advice to Management

Be a true Leader! Motivate your team to be their best selves! Our employees are a direct reflection of the values you exemplify as a leader.

Where do I start? Unorganized, poor management, dangerous patient care practices, the list goes on and on...pretty much everyone there is new or looking for another job!

    Advice to Management

Hire people with management experience or train them, respect your staff.

I worked at Sutter Health full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Some of the people who work in the service level are hard working good people. They have a nice break room in one of the Mather sites?

    Cons

The senior leadership staff at Sutter Health Information Services is horrible. There is no strategy, leadership cohesion or structure. Due to the lack of professional leadership, middle managers and staff are constantly stepping on each other to garner visibility or promote self importance. So far from company mission values/statements, unprofessional and borderline hostile work environment. Sadly much work is needed and will not get done efficiently because of poor management. The staff turn over is significant and is not addressed because human resource bears no importance. There are many key roles and most leadership roles that are occupied by people with little, no or not related experience. Roles are filled based by leadership favorites rather the right candidate for the role in an alarmingly blatant manner, truly discouraging.

    Advice to Management

Sadly management doesn't care, any advise is simply lost.

I worked at Sutter Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people are great! Management actually cares about you and your goals within the company. They have a free gym. Benefits are decent. The cafe at the west valley location is amazing! Free flavored water. They really do take care of their employees as well as their patients.

    Cons

I feel like it would be beneficial to have a little more training in certain areas. This was the first job that I had that only had 10 minute breaks which I thought made it kind of hard to really feel refreshed since it seemed like I was rushing more than relaxing. But there's really nothing too serious to complain about.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work! Great management is important in a company and I think that they have done an amazing job choosing the right people for the position!
