    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Swedish Covenant full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

-Co-workers, they’re like family -Proximity to home (many live in surrounded neighborhood, my commute was 1 mile) -Parking cheap! -Since pay is so low, you are able to negotiate other incentives (maybe only certain people) -Lots of evidence based practice initiatives, but easily hindered by “old school” doctors who don’t want to get with the times

    Cons

-Low base pay, even worse annual raises -Unqualified people in management positions. Promoted from within without proper background. Way too much overlap in job descriptions. -Management acted very unprofessional (yelling at staff meetings, rolling eyes when asked to do things) -Turnover is horrendous. Units mainly staffed by new grads. Can’t attract experienced nurses with pay grade.

    Advice to Management

Try and remember what it was like to be a bedside nurse. If you model professionalism, your staff will follow suite.
