I have been working at Swedish Medical Center Foundation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

you only pay 13.00 a month for a Orca bus pass
you can transfer to another department after 6 months
you get medical and dental after 30 days- however the deductibles keep going up

    Cons

undervalued, union pay scale which means the pay raises are in tiers and very small, little to no perks, micro managing

    Advice to Management

how about listening to your employees, taking feedback and actually applying it

I have been working at Swedish Medical Center Foundation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good travel pay and best hospital environment (Issaquah)

    Cons

One charge nurse talked about killing her husband and another charge nurse was a bully border-lining on terrorizing nurses

    Advice to Management

Give charge nurses patient assignments and reduce workloads of primary care nurse with nurses who are sitting around using the internet

I worked at Swedish Medical Center Foundation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Dedicated staff, generally awesome patients, generally offer better pay and benefits for equivalent positions elsewhere.

    Cons

The work is generally not exciting but requires attentiveness.

Some upper management staff should not be managing people. They display arrogance and practice favoritism.

    Advice to Management

Watch out for the brown nosers.

    Pros

Lot's of really great, knowledgeable, talented people work here.

    Cons

Upper management is not connected to staff. Deliberately keeps information from staff for fear of mass departures.

    Advice to Management

Trust the staff more. Give them more credit.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Swedish Medical Center Foundation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I enjoyed working with my co-workers and I was given amazing opportunities to work with numerous specialty depts

    Cons

Never felt appreciated within my clinic

    Advice to Management

Support your staff at all times through the good and bad. This goes for their HR dept which has often been extremely rude to employees and doesn't feel it important to listen to their questions or concerns. This is mostly in regards to safety in the workplace as well as administrative harassment. Both of which are HIGHLY illegal and open of WA state law enforcement. This is not tolerated in many work places and I feel this is a huge concern that needs attention immediately!!!!!!
