I worked at Sweetbay Supermarket part-time

    Pros

Very lax management - although this could be considered a con as well I suppose. Very flexible and willing to work with you.

    Cons

Unorganized business model with obsolete technology. Many managers hardly knew how to use a computer or inventory scanner.

    Advice to Management

Become more adept to the day and age that we live in. Nice people but not enough drive.

Let the CEO and upper management have total control of marketing

I worked at Sweetbay Supermarket part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

my immediate supervisor was very fair, and an awesome boss. he worked with me on my schedule and most of the employee's treated each other like family.

    Cons

one of the biggest down falls to working for that company was the lack of common sense on behalf of management. I'm not stating all of the managers were idiots, but I did come into contact wit a select few that were, for lack of a better word, morons.

    Advice to Management

take time to listen to your employees. hear what they have to say. show them the same respect that you want them to show you. don't berate them or talk down to them, especially in front of fellow employees and never in front of customers.

I worked at Sweetbay Supermarket part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexibility with hours, great coworkers, benefits to full time employees, laid back work environment, able to interact with customers frequently, great place to work! Sad the company got bought

    Cons

Not the highest paying job, sometimes hard to get a day off without a hassle, not a lot of room to grow within the company, many employees were overworked

    Advice to Management

Treat all employees fairy and equal, offer a more lucrative pay, benefits to part time employees, offer more incentives for positive customer feedback reviews.

I worked at Sweetbay Supermarket part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fun atmosphere, it was a very clean and neat store, employees all worked as a team to get things done, training was great.

    Cons

Managers were following your every move all of the time, even if you were a star employee! At my location, they would page you while you were on break if you were even a minute late, even if you were on the bathroom! How embarrassing.
