I have been working at Swift Energy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are some good people there.

    Cons

Very much a good ol' boy company where steady and no innovation is the norm.
If you are looking for a company that is growing...this is not the company

    Advice to Management

Sell the company. It is highly leveraged and struggling in the market...the stock is down to $3 from around $13 this year.

    Good people focused culture
    Nice flexible work schedule
Accommodating to employees needs and life/work balance

    Cons

Recovering from chapter 11 and continue to have reductions in force
Cannot recommend starting there because the future is so uncertain

    Advice to Management

Not sure what advice to give, it seems to be a sinking ship.

    Cons

Swift Energy just emerged from chapter 11 bankruptcy, and it is hard to tell what sort of long term effects it will have on the organization

I worked at Swift Energy full-time

    Pros

Not a lot good things to say about it. Swifts' biggest asset is their people. 1/2 day on Fridays is really good.

    Cons

Lots of politics, good-ole-boys environment, management is a wreck, investors aren't happy about decisions being made, lots of debt, stock price has depreciated 84% in the last year or so. The company is going downhill.

    Advice to Management

    Get rid of useless managers.

    Pros

Conservative. Hires good people. Treats employees well. Its a great place to work.

    Cons

No directive. Management is unreasonable with the value of the company's assets therefore passing on some exceptional divestment opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Trust your employees, remember you hired them for a reason. Stop over analyzing every transaction and missing out on solid investments or divestments.

    Pros

With the growth rate, there are opportunities opening up every day. We have senior managers that for the most part, truly have their hearts in the rigiht place.

    Cons

The "letting go" is happening too slowly for some people and too fast for others. It would depend which camp you are in as to whether the company is in good stead.

    Advice to Management

Be honest with yourselves and decide that all sr managers are on board with the VMVB program and if they are not, then they are hindering you.

Needs to improve their business process. They need a paperless software. Swift Employees tend to print their work way to much.

    Advice to Management

Treat your managers better implement a ERP system. Promote better from within and also give your employees something to believe in.
