I have been working at Swift Transportation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you deal with the right people you will make money. They care about you and your family and are willing to help you out no matter what.

    Cons

Out of every 10 driver managers there's 1 that will go outta their way to make sure you get paid and make money. They have a dumb system that pays you by the miles but by zip code, which almost all the times is short by a couple miles, on the long run it affects you trust me. But they're policy is it they can not adjust milage unless it's more the 10% short , yeah do the math a year.

    Advice to Management

Do things right, care about drivers more and we'll be more dedicated, I got so lucky my drive manager has been good to me since day 1.

I work for Swift trucking and my duties are mentoring new drivers and deliver loads to Costco from Washington, Oregon and Idaho.

I have been working at Swift Transportation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Trained and hired with no experience.
Pretty good pay to be learning on the job

    Cons

Filthy trucks. They have truck washes at some of their terminals that spray on soap then spray on water no brushes waste of time. Ive paid for cleaning materials but cant use them at their terminals. Pay $50 to get it done at a truck wash but you wont get reimbursed

    Advice to Management

Take some pride in company image and do something about the dirtiest looking trucks on the road

I have been working at Swift Transportation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

People care about each other and the company. Drivers are treated like family. Office is a close knit group that trys to ensure that everyone gets what they need to be successful. FL,TM, and Ops manager ensure that at the end of the day everyone has what they need. Flexible schedule when you need that extra hour. Managers that care about their team and their drivers. Only thing that could get me to leave is a large pay increase.

    Cons

Limited earning potential due to set pay scales in the office. Moving ahead requires a terminal transfer as the team in Sumner is set and very good at what they do.

    Advice to Management

Have faith in your teams that are doing things to make Swift a better place. Some of these teams are trying some really innovative things to counter industry trends and make things happen.
