    Pros

Good starter company to get the experience

    Cons

Stupid management are always keep drivers sitting to long between load

    Advice to Management

Learn to listen to the driver when it comes to hours of service and if the driver says they don't have the hour to driver and question them and learn how to use your computer and don't give haz mat loads to non haz endorsement drivers

I worked at Swift Transportation (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A good place to get started. They will pay for your school & training as long as you stay with them for 26 months

    Cons

It's a big company so you're just a number to them. It takes 5 years to get to 40 cpm so don't expect to make much at first. Don't do anything wrong or they will Black Ball you and it will be hard to get a job

    Advice to Management

Only half the DM's have ever driven a truck before, you need to listen to what drivers suggest because we're out there and know the best way to make it work

I worked at Swift Transportation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Large company, lots of terminals. In house doctors. Benefits are extremely expensive. But they work.

    Cons

Experienced drivers from other companies, don't lease! Buy your own then lease in. It's a scam that will have you stuck in the truck.

    Advice to Management

Fix the lease options. Reduce the rates of final payment.

I have been working at Swift Transportation full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

This is a good Company for those new to the industry. They have a large volume of freight. Mostly new equipment, awesome accommodations for drivers.

    Cons

Only problem is not enough trailers, need more home time for drivers, also vacation time, one truck wash every 6 weeks.

    Advice to Management

We need an open door policy for drivers, driver leaders and fleet leaders. Not enough communication for us out here.

    Pros

Brought home quickly when experienced death in family

    Cons

Swift was first employer out of CDL school. However I was sent out with a trainer that was under indictment in Texas. Really scared me when I found out . I feel that they need to be held accountable for their negligence.

    Pros

Good salary if you keep your truck moving. Many extra load choices if you qualify. Choice of 3 loads delivered on QUALCOMM for you to accept or reject. 3rd party dispatcher for extra loads or help getting out of dead area.

    Cons

Very little home time as an owner operator especially if your leasing your truck. Must keep those wheels turning or you will not make it.

Been there about a month, the training is really good. Maybe train a few more weeks and learning a lot.

    Cons

The training pay sucks, running team and being paid sub standard wages.

    Advice to Management

Increase the training pay to a mileage rate instead of hourly behind the wheel.
