    Pros

There are lots of opportunities with Swift. I was always told bad things about Swift and Swift drivers. They are a driver mill company so you do get a lot of poor drivers, but all companies that train have the same issues. As an otr driver I had a great GM Jim. I am out of Lathrop Ca. The terminal here is a good one. I have never had any problems go unsolved. After showing them I am a true truck driver and not a whinning wheel holder. I got all the miles I could legally run. Easy to shine like a diamond. Once you get a gold, platinum, or diamond rating. They give you miles. I started with Swift because they have dedicated accounts in my home town. I work at target. I am home every night and usaly have weekends off. I make about 46 to 50 thousand a year. I know that is not a great wage for someone who has been driving sents 1991. I am home everyday and get to see my kids, grandkids, wife, and parents.Percect job for me at this time. My account manager is a great Lady named Julie. She works hard to keep everything running smooth. Trucking is not a job for the lazy cry baby type. If you are ready to work keep safe and use your head, you can go far with Swift. Almost forgot they have a program called Swift charities. They help drivers and families in need. If everyone gave just 1 dollar a week it would be even better. Check it out.

    Cons

Pay is lower than it should be but still not bad. Camera in truck on the driver. You want one on the road I'm ok with that. I don't like people filming me while I am sleeping, working or changing. If I go back otr with Swift it will be as a o/o. There lease on is not bad but I would not lease a truck from them go to outside company. Read there lease to see why.

    Pros

You can make good money if you are dedicated to just driving and don't want to have a life outside of just driving and they will train you

    Cons

a lot of the people at the truck driving school treat you like you're in the military or something. They act like they are so much better than you as a person. The recruiter tells you anything you want to hear just to get you to sign up.

This is a great place to start your driving career.

    Pros

Ample freight. You will not sit. Considering your minimal downtime, the pay is competitive Mostly drop and hook. Swift is a 'puppy mill'. New drivers are very welcome. They are good about getting you home. The Lewiston terminal is one of the best to work from. The driving school is top notch. Good, late model tractors and trailers.

    Cons

Bad company reputation. It's not completely deserved, but it wears on you. Sloooooow trucks. Trying to get extra pay that you should be due can be a challenge. Being a trainer is heavily pushed, but it's not for the faint of heart. You likely won't stay with Swift long term as a new driver (but you will likely come back). Cross your "t"s and dot your "i"s. If trouble can be pinned on you, someone may try. It's a big company. CYA is the order of the day.
