      Good Pay/Bad Communication

Jul 5, 2019 - Merchandiser in Bellevue, WA

      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Very Good Pay. Very Good understanding on how a variety of stores operate and a vast knowledge on what Coca Cola Products there is. Pretty laid back for the most part until the busy holidays come around the corner. Okay benefits, but a little expensive if you want to get the premium package. Great Teamwork (when it decides to show its face). If you like hard work and overtime with little free time, this job is for you.

      Cons

Very poor communication between Merchandisers/Managers/Sales/Distrubution all across the board. A lot of people call out aswell just because they want to enjoy the sun or when they don't feel like working, but when you try to call out, you will be guilt tripped. Companies in general don't like it when you aren't a "Yes Man" to a certain extent. If you don't want to pick up a Extra Stop when you are already busy, it will definitely show and may have a bigger impact on how Upper Management perceives you. The Opportunity for Growth is there, but you gotta sacrifice a lot for it and deal with what was stated above. It is a lot of work and having free time to spare is very minimal sometimes during Summertime and Major Holidays. Your body will feel it.

      Not an "Account Manager"

May 20, 2019 - Account Manager in Denver, CO

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Pay and benefits are both decent

      Cons

You are just a glorified merchandiser. The hours are poor (5 am - 2 pm or later), there is not a lot of teamwork nor is there a good relation between the upper management and the lower team members.

Very high workload, expect to work 50-60 hours a week

      Dec 11, 2018 - Account Manager
      Recommend

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      Ability to work independently

      Cons

Was told that there would be typically 8 hour days when I was interviewed. To only work 8 hours you will need to not take any breaks/lunches. Days are typically 10-14 which substantially reduces your hourly pay as this is a salary position. The position is also a glorified merchandiser and less of an account manager role.

If you are an entry level employee please find a better job that gives you more respect

      Pros

You get to meet different people and have easy access to food and drinks on your break.

      Cons

Where to begin. If you are an entry level merchandiser you have to work HARD. It's a VERY physically demanding job. Your bosses want you to build displays and other things but you never have been taught this. Where they place the Coca-Cola products in the back of the store like the 12 packs are either very hard to reach or in a bad place that if you bump into them they all come crashing down. If the grocery store employees damage the product in any way you have to make time out of your day to clean it up yourself. Not them. The receiving managers are all mean. They disrespect you and are condescending towards you. Even if you work really hard. Receiving managers are nice in the beginning but if you make a few mistakes they are mean to you for as long as you work there in the store. You don't really get a break. Your break is only when you have to drive in your personal car to the next store. The pay is abysmal for how hard you work. They don't really train you. This is a dead end job. Please avoid this entry level position merchandiser position and find something better.

      good and bad

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good pay, very happy with home to home mileage

      Cons

Horrible communication. if you have a complaint about another merchandiser, might as well keep it to yourself, because no member over yourself will do anything about it. also, night guys have 1/4 of the workload of the morning guys, but get paid the same. morning guys work load, build displays, fill ENTIRE store. night guys fill ad product and thats it. its not right

      Cons

Start as an merchandiser or in the warehouse before moving in to route managers, truck drivers, and field managers. Holidays are the busiest seasons.

Bulk merch full time. Phoenix az.

Dec 4, 2014 - Bulk Merch Full Time in Phoenix, AZ

      Business Outlook

      Pros

3 weeks vacay every year with option to buy a fourth. Good benefits.

      Cons

Too many to list. But I will mention the big. ones. 1. management is completely ineffective and disconnected from merchandisers. 2. Unrealistic work load on load days. Along with loads not being divided equally between merchs. 3. Too many tattle tales and picture takers too show work that was not done. Or at least the perception of not. 4. No accountability 5. Very bad communication and doesn't inform merchs of sales of pricing on product week to week. 6. Just a poorly run company all around. It could be so much better. But I think sales of coke are suffering so they are all scrambling to find answers and doing all the wrong things. Hahaha. What a joke. Coke. Will never purchase another coke product again. Cya

      Pros

There is never a lack of things that can be done.

      Cons

The position is a sales position and the reality is that you throw more cases being a merchandiser than actually selling
