I worked at Swiss Chalet full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Cara discount card which is good for %20 off food at other Cara restaurants.

    Cons

The only way you can become a Manager or Franchise owner is if you are a sociopath. The managers set people up too fail constantly. They give little too no training then laugh at you when you fail. Managers are racist and discriminate against Canadian workers. Canadian workers will be given 5 hours too do a shift while a Temporary Foreign Worker will be given a full 8 hours too do the exact same shift. Even the General Manager is a Temporary Foreign Worker.

Stop acting like Enron! These are psychologically damaging workplaces.

    I worked at Swiss Chalet

    Pros

Very easy job to do. All you do is general cleaning duties and put dishes in dishwasher and put them where they belong when clean. Some fairly nice people. Easy job to get. You don't need any experience at all.

    Cons

Very "gross" job. No breaks. Was always given the excuse that the restaurant was too busy. Don't mind working with no breaks once in a while, but this was ridiculous. Few missing payments and hours. Had to go on my days off to get my pay. Management was not the best. No training...was not shown where MSDS was. Was not shown where dishes go. Was not shown had to clock in to work until the fourth day. Was literally "thrown into the pit" for lack of better words.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees like people. Turn around is high mostly because of this.
