I have been working at Swiss Re full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

People are generally great to work with, regardless of location they are from. Flexible work schedule and location (personally, my schedule is a four day work week and three of those are from home, and have been able to work from 1,000 miles away for a month each of the last two winters).

    Cons

Compensation in recent years has not reflected corporate success. For calendar years 2011-2015 company has averaged nearly $3.9b in net income ($2.6b, $4.2b, $4.4b, $3.5b, and $4.6b) yet after the last three of those years the company has given 0% salary increase and bonuses have decreased annually.

    Advice to Management

When the team succeeds, share some of that success with the hard working employees who helped make it happen.

I have been working at Swiss Re full-time

    Pros

    1. good 401k match
    2. smart people
    3. pleasant working facility

    Cons

    1. The office is controlled by a handful of people and you wouldn't be able to hear voice from other people and different opinions are not welcome.
    2. Very old fashion management style, hierarchical structure and leadership has the absolutely unchallengeable authority.
    3. Leadership has a short-term focus and zero loyalty, only focus on current results and care less about what you have done and your level of commitment to the organization.
    4. Performance goals are only individually-based with no emphasis on team results collaboration or other contributions to the broader organization.

    Advice to Management

be more open minded, focus on long-term strategy, better performance review process, don't promote cut-throat culture.
