    Pros

    Great people, good work environment, good work/life balance.

    Cons

    While it is a good place to work, senior mgmt doesn't have vision and they are not inclined to grow or build the business.

    I have been working at Sycamore Networks full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Good people, interesting projects.
    Flexible hours and often allowed to telecommute.

    Cons

    The company is now dissolved,
    The optical product line bought by Coriant.
    IQStream product was starting to work, but sadly now shutdown.

    I worked at Sycamore Networks full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Some of the best and brightest engineers. The work atmosphere was very relaxed. Office politics were never an issue. Great health benefits.

    Cons

    Not enough emphasis on personal development opportunities. Occasionally some of the product development decisions did not provide the most prosperous path forward.

    Advice to Management

    If an opportunity presents itself, take off the gloves and go for it.

    - Compensation (there were no raises for years after last recession)
    - Management and technology have been treading water for too long

    Pros

    Lots of group activities. People are very friendly to each other. Meals provided for after hour work. Flexible work hours.

    Cons

    Management team is not honest to employee. No salary increase for many years. No clear future for the company. Employee morale is low.

    Advice to Management

    Need to be honest to employee for all the decisions company made. Listen to and talk with employee on a regular basis.
