    Helping students. IF they respect your time - then a flexible schedule (BIG IF)

    Cons

    They are very inconsistent in terms of hours or giving you a regular schedule. Management often gives little notice to shift changes causing problems if you have a second job (which most instructors do since Sylvan pays so little). Low pay (as mentioned above) Poor curriculum

    Flexible schedule...depending on the manager you report to

    too many lay offs; employee recognition seems to address to the same few people

    Great place to work with flexible schedule for people who are needing a little extra cash and experience. Great if you are a college kid going into education.

    Sylvan offers all the training and development (even an expert) would want. There is always supports or any question you could have. Flexible work schedule.

    Cons

    Requires you to wear a lot of hats, at all times. Long hours, going until about 8 PM year round.
