I have been working at Symantec full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

My manager is great, love the team I am on. Have great flexiblity and love the problems I am working on.

    Cons

Seems like we have been going through cost cutting for years now. My team keeps getting smaller due to layoffs. Some got a really small pay raise, while others got none at all. Most of these decisions are done behind closed doors with no input from front line employees. Seems like the company is only concerned about short term gains in the stock price.

    Advice to Management

Let the front line employees have a voice when you make decisions, especially ones that blind side us. Look at the entire picture not just the current stock price.

I have been working at Symantec full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I loved working for Blue Coat but the change to Symantec was big. Still a great place to work. Just sad to see the old brand retired.

    Cons

Symantec has changed with acquiring Blue Coat, probably for the better. Still seems to be some large corporation issues. Pay is good.

    Advice to Management

Assure companies you have acquired that you will keep good talent. Be clear on requirements and opportunities for advancement as well as what changes are coming. I know every effort has been made to do this, but these are still the biggest concerns for employees.
