Make things consistent across geographies and instate a policy wherein flights over six hours can be premium economy, and over ten, business class.

I have been working at Symantec full-time

    Pros

Low pressure company to work for
    Good site facilities
    Flexible working

    Cons

Really bad leadership. Too many excuses for poor performance and non-delivery, all centred around changing direction too frequently or providing disconnected objectives between groups. I don’t believe the team at the top really understands what work is taking place on the ground or how their decisions impact and disrupt delivery.

Too much waste, many teams spending a lot of time building products that sit of the shelves because they can’t deliver through the existing operational setup as resource isn’t distributed to the places it’s most needed.

Technology company that doesn’t invest in it’s technical teams. Software and tools that are now decades out of date, and standard practices such as CI are missing due to no investment in hardware or resource to get it in place.

If you enjoy getting stuff one, this is not the place for you.

    Advice to Management

Needs a clear out of the old guard, and general reduction in mgmt layers. Stop living on the cash cow of older products which are now in decline and invest in the teams that you have before it’s too late.
