    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Symphony Asset Management full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Very entrepreneurial culture where you can make a difference from day 1. Strong intellectual capital across the org. Business is growing.

    Cons

Flat org, so not a lot of room to move up from a "title" perspective - but if you prove yourself you can gain additional responsibilities quickly.

    Advice to Management

    Keep growing the business.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Symphony Asset Management full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Flat organizational structure so young employees get exposure to senior leadership and investment professionals early on - Flexibility to define your own role over time - Great introduction to buy-side asset management; some interesting investment solutions with long-term track records.

    Cons

    - Poor strategic planng - Corporate vision does not seem aligned with parent company - Lack of specialization

    Advice to Management

While investment strategies are the service offering, resources need to be allocated to the non-investment portion of the business or departures will continue. Asset management is becoming more about operational and technological excellence than unique investment approaches.
