I worked at Syngenta full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Honestly none come to mind.

    Cons

Rule by fear and intimidation regime.

    Advice to Management

Regime of rule by fear and finger pointing to deflect from the fact that those who have stayed beyond their expiry date do not want to change the status quo for fear of change.

New recruits attempt to share modern ways of working but are mobbed into leaving to serve the status quo.

The management style is stifling, draconian and lacks innovation.

People live in fear. No one dares to constructively challenge the hierarchy.

And most groups have cliques that promote bad behaviour in terms of isolating those who are diverse, independent thinkers who want to make a difference by shaking things up for the better.

    Reorganise Corporate Affairs by:

    1) Ending the old regime and recruiting true leaders who are open to new, modern ways of working that help to create a positive atmosphere of engagement within the team and beyond.
    2) Training and development is desperately needed in this field since current staff have not go the skills to do a professional communications role.
    3) More funding is required to have the right tools to do the job - since the department allocates funds based on which clique is favoured and not on business needs.
    4) Align the communications strategy to your business plan. I hope you've managed to create one that has depth, quality and SMART deliverables / metrics.
    5) Discipline those managers who misuse their power through mobbing. There is a lot of attrition in this department yet Corporate Affairs and HR turn a blind eye.

opportunities for advancement, growing seed business makes for an exciting culture and working environment, never a dull day as strategies and structure change often.
