    Pros

    - Company is transitioning into a modern, more developer driven company and focusing more on technology innovation
    - executive leadership is becoming more forward-thinking cultivating innovation
    - Competitive salaries, compensation package
    - lots of transparency around bonuses
    - great company culture: people are genuinely nice, and company supports a variety of culture and team building events such as quarterly company-wide luncheons, monthly dessert and ice cream socials, field days, company outings, and tons of extra-curricular events such as fishing trips, golf outings, sports events, cultural events, and more
    - fantastic support for charitable giving events all through the year
    - flexible work schedules
    - great paid time off benefits
    - on site health clinic
    - supports healthy lifestyles with on site showers and locker rooms, use of gym nearby for modest monthly fee
    - covered, secure bicycle parking
    - global company means you work with people from all over the world

    Cons

    - lots of growing pains due to transition to more modern architectures and software methodologies
    - when lay offs happen due to structural changes, too much of an information vacuum
    - not enough opportunities for regular interaction with executive leadership

    Advice to Management

    - figure out how to be out and about, on site, interacting with your staff on a weekly or bi-weekly basis
    - keep making improvements and moving toward a more product- and developer-driven company

I worked at Syniverse full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Solid team of co-workers. One can really get things done if they are a hard worker and reach out to others who are.

    Cons

Syniverse is currently privately owned and managed - and has oversight for profitability from a global holding corporation. There is no new development for products. Management is extremely Sales focused and many smart innovative people have moved on to find greener pastures. From a Sales perspective, the same opportunities churn around existing products.

    Pros

    * Despite lower revenues, company is profitable (by laying off people)
    * Good work/life balance

    Cons

    * Every year the company's revenues are less than the previous year
    * CEO promises a turnaround every year, but no turnaround yet
    * There are layoffs every year

    * management gives bad reviews just to manage the bonus pool and deny merit increases

I have been working at Syniverse full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefit plans and decent work life balance depending on which area you work in.

    Cons

Rampant cronyism, subjective and non-transparent pay and promotional practices, tyrannical executive management in some areas, frequent reductions in force, constant re-organizations, very few opportunities for advancement. Overall, not a good company to work for.

    Advice to Management

Take a genuine look at the culture and values of Syniverse and make some positive changes. Perhaps if you did, Syniverse might actually start producing meaningful results and become a more inspiring place to work.

I worked at Syniverse full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits. Overall super group of people to work with.

    Cons

With the company having a global footprint, off hours were not a norm. Calls and activities around the clock, warranting much after normal hour participation.

    Advice to Management

Continue to work towards more work life balance. It is always addressed, but seemed not to be followed up on.

I have been working at Syniverse full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You will learn things and be exposed to technologies unlike any other company
    Schedule flexibility is incredible
    Ability to work from home
Benefits can be incredible - paid time off
Free ice cream and snacks throughout the year

    Cons

The things you learn can usually only be applied to this company
You can be terminated at any time even if performing your duties optimally
Some of the products can be buggy which if you are oncall can keep you up for days
Inconsistent and amateur software rollouts can take twice as long as they should if instead they were thought out
More talk about changing culture then action in changing the culture - what is culture in a company?
RIF - this point cannot be driven enough, they fire big swaths of the company without regard to what those people were responsible for causing others to have to quickly fill in

    Advice to Management

FIRE THEM ALL, drain the swamp as they say these days. Invest in one high value product, buy out Carlyle group, get rid of them before they get rid of us. Build on the idea of a cloud environment from the ground up, not from piece mail, partially cloudy, some products cannot be transitioned slowly.
