I worked at Synopsys full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    financially stable company, convenient location

    Cons

environment: fear-based style of low and middle level management

    Advice to Management

Synopsys used to be a great company with solid values to work for. Recently, the rapid change of environment with tendency to move away from diversity and western values has promoted a very negative environment.

    Pros

    Co-CEOs are smart, good leaders

    Cons

Too many VPs. Let go of many experienced, talented people this year to boost quarterly earnings. Shameful.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees. You have enough backlog to make your numbers for years, but would rather cut the payroll to please Wall Street.

I have been working at Synopsys full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    State of the art technology.

    Cons

The employee's age impacts how a person is treated by the senior management.

    Advice to Management

For the company future it is crucial to estimate people by their performance, not their age. For fair estimation one needs to look for projects done and customers satisfaction. The EDA business is not popular among young people. Treating mature people based on their age instead of their performance can leave a company with a lower quality talent pool. Hopefully, this will not happen to Synopsys but there are red flags...

I have been working at Synopsys full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good stability
    Good benefits
    Easy commute
    Good work/life balance

    Cons

You won't learn anything if you're looking to advance your career. Most people are here to coast through retirement - average age of the folks being 45+. Limited to no career growth. Old school / conservative way of doing things, mired in processes, bureaucracy and politics.
