I have been working at Synovus full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great vision insurance, flexible with time off.

    Cons

Poor health insurance, poor 401k plan, branches are understaffed/overworked, training is inadequate, no one knows what they're doing, company spends money fruitlessly while laying off workers, no room for growth, not at all employee focused, environment is not diverse at all - mostly white, female, right-wing, anti-lgbt employees (not a fun environment to work in); wasted 2 years of my life.

    Advice to Management

Spend less money on golf tournaments and foam fingers for every employee and spend more money on hiring people to fill the crippling need for staff.

    Pros

    The local people are nice.

    Cons

Corporate, Local Management, and majority of employees are not very well trained. They are far behind when it comes to being able to successfully run a bank. Corporate is too focused on what they do at home office to even listen and realize that other markets are not the same and cannot be run the same.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your local employees, specifically management in order to actually understand what will work in that specific market.

I worked at Synovus full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Decent benefits
    Great Company History
    Columbus is close to Atlanta

    Cons

Horrible Leadership ethics especially in IT where high level leadership is sleeping around to get promoted & everyone knows it, yet business execs do nothing about it.
Burn out & untrained people - Having been at Synovus the past 8 years I have seen 4 different changes in IT Leadership. People don't stick around here because the leadership is awful and upper-most leadership has no experience in IT

    Advice to Management

When you see senior management in IT change over like 4-5 times in 8 years, you have a problem at the highest levels. Do something about it because your employees obviously know what is going on.

    Pros

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Learn your job. Hire competent staff
