I have been working at Syntel full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Depending on the project, you are exposed to many technologies in different industries.
    - You do not work overtime but this also depends on the project. Pros vary.

    Cons

    - No match for 401K, the health benefits are not good. Syntel really needs to work on this if they want to attract potential employees.
    - Management / HR communication

    Advice to Management

You need to communicate and inform your employees of what is going on. It seems like the hierarchy of this company is clustered also. Managers need to work on building relationships with there employees and letting them understand how Syntel process works.

I worked at Syntel full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay is fairly good for starting out. They give training. The pay is consistent.

    Cons

Very disorganized. When on the bench you are meant to spend your time training with the links provided, but most of them are blocked by their own security. In fact almost anything you try and do at the company is block by security.

    Advice to Management

Streaming line the security approval process. Also assign some people on the bench to improve the website and fix all the dead links.

    Pros

I used to work for The Home Depot which is a good place to work because of its ever evolving Xtreme programming methodology.

    Cons

The deliverable deadlines are so tight sometimes that it hampers quality. With syntel salary is also a concern which is a major reason to look outside.
