I have been working at Syntel full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good work life balance. Although its project specific. In some projectss, people do 9 to 6 work, but in some there is lots of work.
Nobody will ask you to sit around at your desk all the time. You can go anytime anywhere like for tea break or a smoke etc.
Everyone behaves professionally. People complete their work for the day and hang around and have fun.
A very huge campus. You will get a feeling that you are in a big MNC.
Onsite opportunities are good. Major projects are of USA. But since Mr. Trump has been revising the VISA process which in result has affected 60-70% of the onsite opportunities.

    Cons

You getting a good project or a bad project depends all on your luck and not on your skills. Lots of developers are asked to do manual testing. Testers are given development projects and developers are given testing or support projects. Anything can happen.
Salary hike is pretty bad. Every fresher wants to finish his bond period and move on. Nobody wants to stay. Such is the hike process.
Politics is everywhere. So you always should be careful of that.

    Advice to Management

PDAC department should allot projects according to the skillset.

    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Flexible hours, plus I have a good manager but not everyone has it

    Cons

Skewed management views, poor hikes, variable component in salary is a huge amount and only depends on company's share price and revenue not individual performance, only interested in mining existing accounts and not look for new clients and new geographies.

    Advice to Management

reduce variable component from CTC as you never give 100% to the employees
