    Pros

great to get your feet into the industry, but get out as quick as possible. you will always get paid even if you are not working.

    Cons

can not be place on projects. even when you get a project it takes them months to begin working on something. I moved multiple times for new clients and never actually worked on anything. then once I was set i got laid off.

    Advice to Management

    learn to get correct contracts

I have been working at Syntel full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great place to get a start on an IT career with no experience

    Cons

EVERYTHING IS TERRIBLE. No resposiblity for managers or accountability for failure to get tasks done, but employee will get all kinds of flack. Hard to get into projects and often times asked to move to another city or risk being fired. Internal employee websites are garbage. Get in and get out is my best suggestion

    Advice to Management

Clean house and look deep into why the company is heading down hill

    I worked at Syntel full-time

    Pros

    Decent pay
Decent place for people needing experience

    Cons

-Abominable internal systems, "Syntelligence" was universally despised for its clunky interface and difficulty. Keep in mind that these are tech-oriented people, so Syntel either needs to acknowledge that 1) their systems stink or 2) they hire incompetent people
-They require you to submit proof (i.e. a bill) in order to have your own address changed in the system. Makes moving an even greater hassle.
-Terrible "help" desk - phone operators obviously are only concerned with getting off the phone. Electronic ticket submissions require tentativeness - nearly every time the first response was basically "nope, what happened was correct"
-Incompetent (possibly deliberately) HR - anything important to the company (compliance emails) was easily handled through an email subject line. Anything important to employees (benefit enrollment, etc) had to be done through Syntel's horrific internal systems
-Get in the way of work for client
-Oddly OK with American employees on bench - business model seems to be to hire the bare minimum number of Americans in order to bring the maximum number of Indian employees over
-Seemingly unscrupulous behavior with MTO (PTO) disappearing (happened to me several times, and to several coworkers)
-Terrible internal systems make taking advantage of benefits very difficult, presumably deliberately (fitness reimbursement, moving reimbursement etc)
    -No 401K match

    Advice to Management

Clean up your internal systems to show you actually care about happy employees. Stay out of the way of employees placed on a project.
