I worked at Syntel full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Not really anything at all; my experience at Syntel was overall pretty terrible and I don't have anything positive to say about this company.

    Cons

I was hired at a time when the company would have known there would be no positions open at the location I applied for and proceeded to string me along for eight months before threatening to fire me if I didn't relocate to another location in a week. On top of that, if I had done so, the company would have been able to keep moving me in order to build up the debt I would have owed them for relocation fees! Communication with my assigned manager was absolutely terrible; he almost never returned my calls or emails, and when he did, the replies were incredibly vague and generic. Additionally, I was never given any point of contact in the company outside of the one manager, so most of the time I had absolutely no idea what was going on.

    Advice to Management

Get your act together! Focus on more clear and frequent communication with your employees so that they aren't left in the dark wondering if they've been abandoned or not. Don't hire someone with the promise of a job if you're in a down year in that location.

I worked at Syntel full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Its better than being unemployed or working at Mcdonalds

    Cons

Take the bottom of market range and subtract 20%, and that's what you'll get offered. In 2017 still offering 13 days Sick/Personal/Vacation, and even that has to be accrued. Healthcare costs are very high and benefits nebulous

    Advice to Management

Treating US employees like those in India with the same set of benefits is laughable. The moment visa holders understand they are being ripped off, they'll jump ship to a reputable company
