I worked at Syntel full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good for freshers without any expereince

    Cons

Unqualified management, management is only focused on making money, doesn't care about employees' growth, employee is put on a random project where there is no good fit or put on a project not liked by an employee, no proper communication between employees and management, too much focused on solely making money, easy and quick hiring and firing, no job guarantee at SYNTEL, only apply at Syntel at the end if you don't find any job, when they ask you to choose the location do not choose Phoenix, AZ and Memphis, TN where they have their largest client. You would be put on a random projects whether you like it or not or where you have proper skill sets to do a job. Then they will make you quit if not able to perform as expected. It is wiser to choose other cities as a location preference and you will be able to make free money for months like up to even 8,9 months staying at bench which is your home home doing nothing. Overall, Syntel does not care about employees. Stay away from this Syntel. Don't waste your time applying to this company.

Work on your internal management. Do not only run after making money. If you continue to do this then you will fail and go bankruptcy one day because you don't value your employees which in turn your employees will not care about your client.

I worked at Syntel full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I will not recommended to join syntel in usa. As they have very less project n marketing team is worst that they can't even understand the project cost. They have lost almost all big client. Company is going to shut down soon . I worked in syntel for 3 years , continuously going down as compare to other competitor.

    Cons

No specific reason to do Job in syntel.
    No good project .
    Not good managers .
    Not good salary.
Not good supporting staff ( immigration , HR, finance and travel ).
Try to save money on every travel of employees.
    Stick to the policy .
Don't respect employees effort to keep the project alive for syntel.
Manager don't even pick up the call of the employee if he have requested something. Try to ignore him .

    Advice to Management

Listen to employee request , specially in takata project in michigan.
It's very hard to survive in michigan where we have very less employee count. Respect is what required from the manager. Any way you don't pay to employee well.

I have been working at Syntel full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay is decent for not having previous experience

    Cons

    -Poor Communication
    -Poor Management
-You will be left with little to no information on anything
-Put onto projects that don't match your skills or desires and left with little to no guidance yet blamed for not being able to complete anything because you don't know.
-Find a beginning career somewhere else where they will actually work with you.

    Advice to Management

Actually learn about management. Not one person I've met in a leadership style position is truly fit for the job. You desperately need liasons for the bench and when people first get into projects at the client so not only does a busy lead or manager not get bothered, but there can be a dedicated person with all the knowledge needed for smooth transitions.

I have been working at Syntel full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Syntel India ...good would not recommend Syntel US

    Cons

I have been working with this company since last 5.6 yrs ,Initially working from offshore (india),As soon as I was deputed onsite things started messing up ,in every 2-3 months my pay was revised and than I have to fight with finance team,HR and than again its revised.

Seems there is no sync between finance,HR and Onsite Deputation team,

They just depute employees for client billability without even understanding the core skills of resource, despite of being a Cloud computing/windows guy ,I have been working as BSA(business system analyst) for current role,

for one of their client I have told to learn primavera than after 3 weeks I have been told to learn oracle DB and than after 2 weeks JAVA and after 2 weeks Citrix and list goes on and than after few months they expect me to be at Advance level in all technologies.

    Advice to Management

    Identify resource core skills

I have been working at Syntel full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The only pro is that you can get to onsite real fast. This is a con for resources under 3 yrs exp.

    Cons

The list is never ending. Would have given -5 stars if available.

    1. No Benefits for resources
    2. No one cares what the resource has in his plate.
    3. Politics start at the lead level itself and they set a very bad example to all
    4. Pathetic medical benefits
    5. You are a slave to the client as Syntel is so.
    6. Very bad Management team. The worse is at the top and it goes till the CEO who does not even know how to answer a straight forward question in his town-halls.
    7. No Job security.
    8. Work life balance is a joke. DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT.

    Advice to Management

Nothing can change them and they are arrogant enough to not listen.

I worked at Syntel full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Immediate management is good and understanding.

Self learning is the deal - as you are directly exposed to the client and have to take care of each and every activity right from Client relations to new business opportunity.

    Cons

    Worst HR practices.

Practices 'bonded labor' practices - You are in bond all the time.

    Advice to Management

    Wake up !!

I worked at Syntel full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    1. Early Onsite opportunity. Syntel is company where one can get early onsite opportunity. It is good thing that even if you don't have skills your visa will be processed and as soon as you get visa you will be sent onsite from any project even if your skills doesn't match.

    Cons

    1. If you don't get onsite opportunity then you are looser. Neither you get respected salary at offshore nor good technical knowledge.
    2. Syntel treats you like slave once they process your visa. At every visa processing stage you have to sign some kind of undertaking(bond).
    3. If you leave company at onsite then you have to pay 5 lac bond amount+3 months notice period pay. I paid more than 5.5 lac. It is like returning back six months onsite earning back to Syntel.
    4. If you want to grow in technical field then Syntel is not the company for you. If you want to be in politics in then it is good choice.
    5. It is company for people with retirement in mind, Because they try to bog down everyone else with their HR policies. (p.s. HR guys gets salary based on how many careers they destroyed.)

    Advice to Management

STOP collecting money from employees who left job at onsite. And give them experience letters. Also cancel your relentless bond(Onsite Deputation Agreement). Find some alternate way to grow your revenue.

    Pros

Pay is good if you are directly hired in USA. If customer have budget you can complete 3 to 5 years in 1 project.

    Cons

No good opportunity for SAP BO technology. Business intelligence presence is very low. There are needs in various customer areas but manager are not that good to find that opportunities to improve business.

    Advice to Management

Improve process. Please check your customer job site and speak to them to grab more business
