I worked at Syntel full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

None at all. Wish I didnt work for this company

    Cons

Want to pay you little to nothing. Do not respond well to phone calls or email. HR department is rude and need to get it together. Manager was never at the job site and my project lead did more work than she did.

    Advice to Management

    Company needs work

I worked at Syntel full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The only pro was the team I worked with, and the company I was contracted under.

    Cons

Do not join this company unless your desperate. They do not even pay average wages for the state you live in. Average in my state was 80k got 50k as a senior programmer. Syntel only cares about their bottom line. I only talked to my manager twice in one year. Had 1 1 on 1 with my leader in one year. Everyone on my team left this company. They expect you to be on call and have meetings with offshore at 9pm twice a week, this is not including calls for updates on tech. They treat their outsourcing/visa holders like garbage. On top of everything and the over time, they expect payment months after I quit. They want to sneak around and give bonuses instead of raises. Raises come from a 10k pool for a team of 7. Just don't do it. If your going to be a contractor take your skills somewhere else.

    Advice to Management

Care more about your teams and you will not loose contracts/contractors.

I worked at Syntel full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

People are nice, smart and ambitious. The company has potential and a great list of clients.

    Cons

The systems integration space is highly competitive and it's too easy to become a programming house for clients instead of a partner. Rather than accepting the challenge to evolve during difficult times, Syntel is retracting to the old ways that made it successful. Unfortunately, the old ways aren't going to work and real, authentic thought leadership will be the driver for growth.

    Pros

You have a job that pays your bills. Have some good clients that they are working with for long time

    Cons

If you absolutely need a job then join this company. Company has Cultural and ethical issues. If you are a woman make sure what kind of managers you are going to work with. was taken aback finding some senior managers using abusive language.

    Advice to Management

Don’t think the company can change anything.Rot is too deep among senior leadership and propagates down.Advise is to respect diversity, respect people and cultures.

I have been working at Syntel full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Depending on the project, you are exposed to many technologies in different industries.
    - You do not work overtime but this also depends on the project. Pros vary.

    Cons

    - No match for 401K, the health benefits are not good. Syntel really needs to work on this if they want to attract potential employees.
    - Management / HR communication

    Advice to Management

You need to communicate and inform your employees of what is going on. It seems like the hierarchy of this company is clustered also. Managers need to work on building relationships with there employees and letting them understand how Syntel process works.
