I worked at Syntel full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

None. There is no growth opportunity for employee. One day this company will be out of market if they will not change management people.

    Cons

Non technical people with good PR and buttering skill will grow fast. They will not even think about your career. They do not consider subordinate as human being. HR will never pick your call and will never replay. Immigration team is worst, they will ask you to go any location to work with LCA and they can suck you anytime with 1-2 days notice.

    Advice to Management

Hire good manager with management skill.

I have been working at Syntel full-time

    Pros

Never join if you are on H1B. Seen 2 people ruined there USA dream.

    Cons

No learning, bad projects, if you are on bench get terminated within 2 week. Never join on H1B. No experience letter provided when resign them. You will get cheap management and mostly low skilled coworkers

    Advice to Management

Do not be arrogant. Have some ethics.

  3. "Lot of wasted opportunities, disregarded good resources , only sense of going downhill..."

    Pros

Only.... onsite if you are lucky enough..do not have 20 words to speak about in pros..

    Cons

No vision, no plan(at least not good enough) , I wonder how year after year the planners keep making the same mistake..

Just an example: when I joined syntel 2010 they set a target of becoming an one biliion company by 2012. They could not make it...then they revised the target to 2 billion by 2015..still this date they could not even make it 1 billion. No offense but some serious problem. So now imagine where they stand on employee planning.

    Advice to Management

Need some serious brainstorming. I do not see the point to even continue this business if you guys are not serious enough..

I worked at Syntel full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Not much work, good work life balance.
Salary is ok according to market rates.

    Cons

Cheap quality of co workers and management.
Whatever you have experienced and learnt you will forget as there is no quality or good work.
Cheap and worst relocation policy and benefits if you are joining in usa.
Small company never aspire to become better and earn good reveneue.
No gueantee if projects will end in next 10 days. Managers also dont know till when the project is.
Confusing performnace appraisal process. Intentionally made confusing so that people dont demand promotion or good rating.

    Advice to Management

Sell this company. Merge with a bigger company . Only in that way Syntel will grow and earn some revenue.

    Pros

Some times good for Offshore resources looking for Onsite Opportunities

    Cons

No carrer growth. No Job security. Laying off permanent Syntel Inc employees who joined in USA with one day notice period. It is still a body shopping company who hires people from market as permanent employees and lay them off as soon as the project ends and utmost they can keep for 2 weeks and all of a sudden HR communicates and release the resources with one day notice. This is not a real consulting company. Never join Syntel unless you badly need an immediate job to survive until you get a good offer from a better company than Syntel.

    Advice to Management

No advice to management as they are aware of all these and it is their operating model to keep the organization in profits to survive in the IT consulting market.
