I worked at Syntel (More than 3 years)

    Pros

No Pros for this Worst Company

    Cons

ever start your carrier with Syntel. I did the same mistake that is why i don't want anyone else to do that. Managers, HRs are worst in Syntel. You have to stay minimum 10-12 hrs just to impress your manager even if you don't have any work or even if you are not doing any work. The longer you stay in the office the better you work they would say

    Advice to Management

anagement should set the policies which will help the employee to grow. Syntel has the worst management that's why it faces lay off every year. Management and HR they are here only to fill their pockets they don't a damn to their employee. Even if the employee is dying the don't even care or bother i would say.

I worked at Syntel full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Its good for fresher to start a corporate life.
    Onsite opportunities are there.
    Campus infrastructure is awesome
    Food is good.

    Cons

Meager salary hikes or no hikes.
    Jobs are mostly unstable.
Strech is the fashion that everyone follows.
    Resource allocation is very bad.
Treat human like machines and if you dnt work according to them then u can be fired anytime soon.
    No personal life.
Hectice deadline which will force you to come on majority weekend.

    Advice to Management

    Salary hikes should be improved.
Resource should be allocated as per their skills and interests.
Employee's problems should be considered when they raise issues about any management.

    Pros

    Good Chennai campus.
Lucky ones might land into a decent project with lesser support work. Most of the projects are testing based with little or no technical stack involved. However, if you are really lucky you might end up working with hot skills with high demand.
S'Prayas, is one thing that stands out for Syntel. Employees needs to be applauded for that.
Good work - life balance as most of the projects involve just testing with no real deadlines.
    Easy onsite opportunities till 2016.
All being said, Syntel will always be an special company for me & I really feel bad seeing it in such a bad shape. Thanks to its top level management which got promoted to that level just for being their for 17 years or so & not because of merit and are solely responsible for its condition.

    Cons

Hike is too low. the best ones get the hike of 8-9%. Every year during march they organize town halls just to announce that they could not reach $ 1 Billion yet again and they won't be able to give hike and variable pay.
DMs DDs and others at the top level need to be reviewed on basis of their skills. Just being in a certain organization for 15 years should not make anyone eligible to become a DM or DD.
Onsite counterparts need to rotated back and forth to India on a regular basis. Once they reach US, they start behaving like a boss with zero leadership qualities.

    Advice to Management

There is a world ahead of SyntBots. Move ahead of that, don't get stuck with it and brag about it alot.
Hire skilled people at the top level who can win you some projects instead of just sitting and talking about Digital Initiative all the time.
Don't do hiring unnecessarily. Supply and demand analysis could be much better to avoid unnecessary firings.

I have been working at Syntel full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Guys if you are fresher then this company good to take experience . But it not good to work long time.

    Cons

Guys you face here lot of challenges like you have to build capacity to work minimum 10 hours here and you have to work with flow because if you say whatever you feel then your performance go down and your movements is fix. In Syntel annual increment is not go beyond 1000 rs.

    Advice to Management

Syntal need to take care his employee so employee take care company's customer and then customer take care of company's profit.
