I worked at Syntel (Less than a year)

    Pros

They have good clients. They offer lots of self paced training.

    Cons

They are self-insured (not real medical insurance). They hire you and then after you are hired you must interview with the client. They never tell you that… Very few people speak English. Employees that do speak English speak with one of 100 different dialects from India. They are always trying to move you to another city, like NY, New York. Finally they do not pay well.

    Advice to Management

Tell the prospective employee up-front how the job and company works. Offer your employees real insurance, so they don't have to buy private insurance. Employees are your greatest resource, treat them that way.

I worked at Syntel full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The paid training for an entry level opportunity.

    Cons

Beware the testing. Tests are filled with typos and poor grammar usage. They can go several directions with the correctness of your answers and never let you review it after being graded. No way to tell what needs work and what doesnt. If they like you, they will pass you. If not, good luck navigating the tests to move to the next step. And beware to those who get relocated from across the country. It happened to one. She has two kids and no connections in san diego, ca. She moved from Maine.

    Advice to Management

Remove language barrier before dissemination of information.

    Pros

Good for freshers without any expereince

    Cons

Unqualified management, management is only focused on making money, doesn't care about employees' growth, employee is put on a random project where there is no good fit or put on a project not liked by an employee, no proper communication between employees and management, too much focused on solely making money, easy and quick hiring and firing, no job guarantee at SYNTEL, only apply at Syntel at the end if you don't find any job, when they ask you to choose the location do not choose Phoenix, AZ and Memphis, TN where they have their largest client. You would be put on a random projects whether you like it or not or where you have proper skill sets to do a job. Then they will make you quit if not able to perform as expected. It is wiser to choose other cities as a location preference and you will be able to make free money for months like up to even 8,9 months staying at bench which is your home home doing nothing. Overall, Syntel does not care about employees. Stay away from this Syntel. Don't waste your time applying to this company.

Work on your internal management. Do not only run after making money. If you continue to do this then you will fail and go bankruptcy one day because you don't value your employees which in turn your employees will not care about your client.

I worked at Syntel full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I will not recommended to join syntel in usa. As they have very less project n marketing team is worst that they can't even understand the project cost. They have lost almost all big client. Company is going to shut down soon . I worked in syntel for 3 years , continuously going down as compare to other competitor.

    Cons

No specific reason to do Job in syntel.
    No good project .
    Not good managers .
    Not good salary.
Not good supporting staff ( immigration , HR, finance and travel ).
Try to save money on every travel of employees.
    Stick to the policy .
Don't respect employees effort to keep the project alive for syntel.
Manager don't even pick up the call of the employee if he have requested something. Try to ignore him .

    Advice to Management

Listen to employee request , specially in takata project in michigan.
It's very hard to survive in michigan where we have very less employee count. Respect is what required from the manager. Any way you don't pay to employee well.
