I have been working at Syracuse University part-time

    Pros

Productive environment. If you succeed in position, you will have many doors opened to you. Professor wants to see you succeed and will help you do so. Real experience

    Cons

Syracuse University has been stagnant for years, but it is now on the upturn as far as vision and plan. Still, there is lots of bureaucracy in higher education.

    Advice to Management

I've enjoyed my boss as a teaching assistant. He has really been a mentor and allowed lots of individual freedom and responsibility. I've virtually led the class and have become more of a professor than a teaching assistant.

I have been working at Syracuse University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good courses, good professors and competitive environment, the university has a very good infrastructure. The location is good and very near to Syracuse downtown.

    Cons

Very far from the big cities of USA like New York, Boston, Chicago; so finding jobs nearby is not very easy. One has to move to the California to find jobs. However, the university offers good education so its not a bad deal.

    Advice to Management

The credit hour per course is very high. The private universities charge a lot of money, but its still higher than a lot of them. It woud be great if they balance the per credit hour fee so students can save a lot of money for tuition.
