The best training I've ever had and some of the nicest people I've ever met.

    Pros

Sysco offers a great base pay and a commission structure that is easy to understand. They offer some of the best training I've ever had. They invest in their employees and don't treat them like liabilities. My district manager was a great person who spent a lot of time with his team members. Overall commissions were fair. The support staff was terrific and it was easy to find help when needed. Every company has its share of bozos but overall the management was great.

    Cons

Hard to really be "off" on weekends as customers call whenever they want. Lots of driving which can get tiring.

Good Pay, but there's a catch

    Apr 13, 2022 - Delivery Driver

    Pros

The company pays very well and gives good bonuses

    Cons

The dispatch and warehouse workers have no idea what theyre doing, and you get screwed with the consequences. Products aren't in the right spot, you have to down stack entire pallets for one item and then re stack so you can reach the rest on the truck, and dispatch will have you arriving to stops hours before they're ready for the delivery.

    Sysco Response

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review about your experience working at Sysco. We are committed to creating an open, diverse, and respectful environment and take feedback from our current and former associates very seriously. We’re disappointed to read that you didn’t have a good experience and hope that you provided feedback to the leadership of your Sysco company so that your specific concerns could be addressed. There are many options at Sysco for providing feedback including anonymous methods such as the SyscoSpeaks Associate Engagement Survey and the Sysco Ethics Line. Pros

The Sysco order selector position is a performance based pay system it allows you to control your pay. Base pay is $17.35 and starting at 103% pay increases past $20 up to $35.

    Cons

The hours are overnight hours so you must be prepared to be very tired when it comes to taking kids to school in the morning.

    Pros

Sysco was a good paying job and all the people that worked there was pretty nice.

    Cons

You will not have a life if you drive trucks for them. The load the trucks to maximum capacity and keep you out on deliveries all day. It would be a lot better if the hired driver helpers to assist with the deliveries.

    Pros

High ceiling. Great support staff. Nice starting pay is a solid base while you find your way as a sales rep

    Cons

High stress. Volatile industry. Customers can come and go so that it is an always changing situation. Restaurants mow through employees making it tough to build relationships.

    Flexible and good pay

Jun 7, 2016 - Marketing Associate in Suffolk, VA
    Recommend

    Business Outlook

    Pros

If you work hard to build your territory and build good relationships with your customers it's really a cake job. Flexible and good pay. Competition is tough sometimes but the management does a good job to help you keep the business when there is competitive pressure.

    Cons

You do work everyday of the week and there are no set hours. Some days it could be 5am-6pm but it's flexible so it's not like you're sitting in an office all day. Also, on the weekends and evening you could technically be on vacation or on the boat and still working. So it's not that bad!

    Dec 26, 2022 - Warehouse Order Selector
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

The base pay is very good and the trainers help you understand what is expected while working.

    Cons

There are bonuses that you can receive for reaching your percentage goal and quantity goals. the problem is they make it seem like it is easy and it is not. you can make upwards of 35 to 40 dollars but you will be exhausted and it is not a simple thing to accomplish. They kind of bait and hook you in by what hitting your goals but in all reality they should just let you apply then if you hit a good percentage then reward you, not make it seem like you will hit your goal every week.
