I have been working at Sysomos full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

One of the best things about Sysomos is that everyone is pulling together toward a common goal and vision. In addition, the culture encourages everyone to speak up and for people to listen and take action. Its a very exciting environment comprised of very talented people that work as a team.

    Cons

It's a very competitive industry. Takes hard work and commitment to succeed. Not a place for faint of heart.

    Advice to Management

Great job rolling out a unified vision and plan. Stay focused and disciplined.

I worked at Sysomos full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

some very smart and dedicated employees - who are there to do the right thing (but unable to due to management incompetence)

    Cons

zero vision or strategic thinking driving company.
    management mistakes "activity" for progress
CEO is an ego maniac - and micromanages extremely tactical details that add zero value to the company vs. focusing on strategic leadership of the company. penny wise and pound foolish.
    Inexperienced senior management team
    Raleigh office feels very Trump-y.

    Advice to Management

stop lying to customers and employees, focus on fixing the system outage causes - everything is so bailing wire and tape. Treat employees with greater respect - they are human beings not widgets. Let the smart people remaining actually do their jobs - and stop with the control and micromanagement.

    I worked at Sysomos full-time

    Pros

The people are good-hearted and the general employee is friendly and willing to work together and help build a good place to work.

    Cons

Big executive shake-up in 2016 drastically reduced the vision of the company to a more pedestrian social media company without the big-company potential. They seem to be really good at extracting above average work from average people.

    Advice to Management

    They're humans, not workers.

    Pros

New leadership team is focused and driven to succeed. They care about employee's career. I feel respected and enjoy my colleagues and management. Work is challenging but fun.

    Cons

The last year was frustrating under previous leadership and it has put our company behind. Everyone is working hard but sometimes it is tough to always be pushing hard to catch up.

    Advice to Management

Keep focused on 2017 goals that have been set. Don't let up focus on executing and holding management and employees to their commitments. I appreciate the transparency so keep telling us the truth good or bad..

I worked at Sysomos full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Opportunities for challenge and growth in a fast paced environment. Efforts appreciated and applauded. Great team of smart, dedicated co-workers and leadership. A true Open Door culture - you can ask anyone - anything - anytime. Leaving was a very difficult decision. However, an opportunity arose that I had to accept.

    Cons

Challenges and opportunities also means some long hours and can feel like you're on your own. That can be disconcerting.

    Advice to Management

Keep pushing forward and sharing your vision for the future. At the same time, remember that you have a higher awareness of the "big" picture than your team does. Don't assume that they are all on the same page as you.

    Pros

The environment here is fantastic. Not only do we get to work with some very cool technologies, but it's also a fun place to work with some great people..Integrating with the top social media platforms and keeping up with them as they change is challenging and a very rewarding experience as it all comes together.

    Cons

Recent growth has put a few restrictions on costs, but that's part of any business as it matures. The face paced work environment and self directed work isn't for everybody, but if you're good at what you do, it's very rewarding.

    Advice to Management

Continue taking care of your people and continue working with your employees to help them develop their careers. Working feels a lot less like work when you feel appreciated.
