Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

      Pros

      Excellent compensation package, beer/soda fridge, catered lunch daily. Short work day

      Cons

      Management doesn't have a clear vision of where the company is headed. Too much change. Company is spread out and one arm doesn't support what the other is doing.

      With significant change comes huge opportunity. Operating in this type of positive ambiguity is a special skill. Our two key priorities are to significantly increase the number of customers we have and the value proposition offered each customer. Put these two together and you have opportunity for huge growth.

    Have you ever done interview & just felt the team or company wasn’t sitting well with your gut? How does that factor into your decision if an offer is made? Obv a job interview time is limited so you never know but sometimes I just have a vibe it’s not a match and even though I may keep going in rounds, I’m always checking if I finally get the gut feeling this may be right. I had one where round 1-4 the mood was off. I felt I was being nitpicked harshly always, they rejected me in the end
