I worked at Systemax full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The professional and talented people I was worked with. Great opportunity for me manage to meet lots of people from around the globe. Real International trade company. I liked it.

    Cons

Once you were good at your job you managed every angle of it even you when managers skill required. After it was nearly impossible to move horizontal or vertical in the company structure. So after wards I decided otherwise.

    Advice to Management

Open mindset and learn to listen. Especially when good ideas all around you. You just have to reach out to the people.

I have been working at Systemax full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

None at all - except that their sub Misco was sold, so now we see a light at the end fo the tunnel

    Cons

Can't list them all would take ages, mate.

    Advice to Management

Seek professional, psychological help, stop lying to the markets, customers and employees, fess up to what you really are, a bunch of has-beens, dysfunctional, limp, incompetent excuses lucky to be where you are. Stick to selling ladders.

I worked at Systemax (Less than a year)

    Pros

    The customers and the peers!

    Cons

Worse management ever! There has been some changes in the last year and after that it went downhill! The moral is down. Upper Managment does not care about their people! They are full of lies! The also love to micro manage... they also don't know how to treat sales people ( the engine in the company)

    Advice to Management

Change managment asap.... if not, the sales people will find real sales jobs and Systemax will go down hill...

I worked at Systemax (Less than a year)

    Pros

Location was good, salary was okay.

    Cons

Working hours and breaks were not flexible,
    Breaks were not enough,
    Workload was huge,
Attitude and moral of the team was very negative,
Team leader was unprofessional, emotional and not supportive.
Manager was the only person knowing how to handle things but then we received a new manager based in another country.. (very useful yes).

    Advice to Management

Change the Team Leader. And bring more people on board so that the ones working can breathe sometimes between handling shouting customers over the phone, or have at least a 45 mins lunch break instead of 30 mins, which is absolutely nonsense!

    I worked at Systemax full-time

    Pros

Global player, partially privately owned, healthy financial situation, restructured to focus on core business, healthy IT devision in France, strong footprint in US.

    Cons

Not much experience and understanding of today's IT world which has resulted in the extraction out of the market. Misco EMEA / technology group sold to Hilco Capital

    Advice to Management

Maintain focusing on to Global Industrial. Europe is something completely different then back in the US. Set clear goals and expectations which are in line with the business possibilities

I worked at Systemax full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Just to be employed if you have nothing at all.

    Cons

Racial conflicts and conditions amongst management towards Hispanics & Blacks

    Advice to Management

Treat employees with respect & appreciation, no matter the racial background. Next, allow fair opportunity to those of color and Hispanic background not just to whites. Human Resource is not professional nor in action to support employees that are being treated in unprofessional ways and due to their race.

I have been working at Systemax full-time

    Pros

Nice environment, friendly colleagues, good office location.
From a basic chaos, SBS is strating to show structure. Directions and Values are taking shape, management is concentrating more on the employees needs, new trainings are available, a bonus system is about to be applied, etc.

    Cons

Still room for implrovement in the communication with In-Country and regarding Senior Management visibility

    Advice to Management

Keep going in the current direction and the results will speak for themselves
