    Negative Outlook

I worked at TÜV Rheinland full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Vacation time is generous
    Some nice co-workers
    Pays the bills

    Cons

It was a very poisonous working environment: there were office cliques as if you were in high school.
I had 5 managers in less than a year. Salary is pretty low and the health benefits offered were sub-standard. The only eye doctor I could see in 50 mile radius was in a Walmart. I didn't have the chance to grow even when there was an opportunity and even though I had proven myself worthy they recruited someone from outside of the organization.
There was no transparency. Information was not communicated properly. Management from Germany did not mingle with local employees.

There was someone quitting every month, sometime more often, they also sacked/retired people fairly regularly.

I did give this place a chance but after 8 months of employment I actively started looking for a new job and I am pleased that this place is only a distant memory now.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to motivate your employees. Maybe you would stop losing talented people day in and day out.

    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

    - good benefits package
    - tons of vacation time because of european parent company
    - diverse group of employees work there

    Cons

    - senior management completey incompetent
    - unless you are german, you cannot advance
    - absolutely no loyalty
    - arcaine rules are implemented for all staff .. and then completely ignored by sr management hours after being posted

    Advice to Management

perhaps you should take more time praising and rewarding good employees. not being yelled at for work on a project shouldnt be the goal, but it is there. The good people leave for a reason, and then you are left with the b-squad to run things. and you wonder why you have to fight for numbers monthly.
