I have been working at TÜV SÜD America (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good exposure in terms of visibility with senior management. I learnt concepts of project management and leadership that was very helpful. I could apply my course learning in the projects. The support of the team helped me clear the PHR exam. Good activities for employee engagement like Halloween, Friday Bagels and more.

    Cons

As an intern I was not able to participate in all activities of HR due to confidentiality issues. But, the HR team did a good job giving an overview of the problem and the appropriate solution.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work! The company needs more systems in place to help the HR team perform better. Good work culture and team morale.

I worked at TÜV SÜD America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Location was conveniently located off the highway. Some of the employees were pleasant, although they were usually not of higher ranks (supervisor or above) however in passing everyone generally said hello. The operating systems were fairly easy to use. Employees who were there over 5 years were helpful in explaining the technical difficulties that were common, which would be difficult to move past without their help.

    Cons

Communication was a very clear problem since day one and this created an uncomfortable work environment. Most employees are overworked leaving no time to learn new things. Taking time off was difficult as there was no one to help fill your spot while you were out. Supervisors were not very supportive, and only cared about what affected them personally and making themselves look good to the higher ups. There was no room to grow.

Also, the building was in desperate need of improving... poor air quality solutions, old carpeting, air temperature varied throughout the open space layout, bathrooms were gross- just to name a few. Also the health benefits were arranged as self pay company sponsored which meant tons of time spent trying to fix billing errors and the eligibility verifications were endless at each doctor appointment.

    Advice to Management

Communicate clearly and professionally to all employees. Learn the facts as they pertain to each entity so that the proper training can be supplied. Individuals should be treated with the same respect you would want to be treated with.
