I have been working at T-Mobile full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great leadership, and change that is invigorating

    Cons

Some people still want to hang on to the old ways of doing stuff

    Advice to Management

Share more about what is means to transform a company and allow employees to embrace that motivation.

    I worked at T-Mobile full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

TMO has no problem breaking from tradition even before present leadership was in place. Terrific compensation package if work-life balance can be achieved.

    Cons

Experience and latitude to achieve is directly effected by management.

I have been working at T-Mobile full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Friendly people. Product Management contractors are top notch. Free phone giveaways at events. CEO. Amazing growth. Great marketing with long term growth potential. Upward mobility.

    Cons

Middle management is useless and takes credit for ideas that come from subordinates. Too many layers. Strategy is nonexistent and is more akin to throwing darts at a dartboard (at least from my perspective). Leaders are use to high turnover (given the Seattle competition for talent) and working with contractors to scale, as a result on boarding is nonexistent, leaders don't know how to lead or set strategy. Reliance on reliance on consulting firms for direction hides managements inability to grow the business.

    Advice to Management

    Downsize.

I have been working at T-Mobile full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Fast moving, empowering, flexible. Full of really smart, fun people who like to create great experiences for our customers.

    Cons

Can be a bit difficult to navigate all the processes and committees required to get something off the ground. If you aren't working on handsets or rate plans you tend to fall lower on prioritization lists.

I have been working at T-Mobile full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Company is an industry leader in customer satisfaction and service innovation. The environment is dynamic and challenging. Work with other motivated smart people, and a winning team.

    Cons

Be prepared to work overtime and serve to demanding standards and schedules. Work is driven by fierce competition and external market forces, which place high demands on individual and team performance.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing. Our customers love it!

I have been working at T-Mobile (More than a year)

    Pros

Energetic and driven atmosphere, fun for all the right reasons.

    Cons

It's still a phone company at the core, but that's not a big con, really.

    I worked at T-Mobile full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I enjoyed most of the people I worked with. Never a dull moment. The salary and benefits were good and the work-life balance reasonable for a tech company.

    Cons

Senior Management for the most part is a young white guys' club. They hire and promote based less on knowledge and skill set than on how well you manage upward. Thus it's left to others to get things done, which is difficult when "strategy" changes constantly. Plus there is a lot of dishonesty about true network coverage and performance. This company tends to cater to lower-end consumers and has no conscience about taking advantage of them. And they may talk about B2B but they don't understand it and instead of recruiting knowledgeable people they continue to put consumer-focused people in those positions. They like to think of themselves as swashbuckling mavericks changing the industry but behind the bluster there is not a ton of substance.

    Advice to Management

Make more investments in the right skills sets to get where you want to go. Don't believe your own hype.

I have been working at T-Mobile full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

T-Mobile is a growing company and is making exciting changes in the wireless industry. We work hard, but the pay is fair and the benefits are fine.

    Cons

As with all large companies, we can be a bit process heavy at times and shoot ourselves in the foot.

    Advice to Management

T-Mobile could invest a little more money into professional development and continuing education for employees.
