    Pros

The benefits package is tremendeous, upper management is extremenly open in their communcations. Brand recognization is great and knowing that you have a secure job even in the worst of times can be pretty satisfying.

    Cons

90% of all the jobs are in Maryland, so if you want to move up within the company be prepare to move there.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing!

This is a great place to work. As an intern, I was given a lot of responsibility and meaningful work. The people at T. Rowe Price are wonderful. My manager went above and beyond to make my experience memorable. It is really a great company to work for, and is emerging as one of the top Investment Management firms.

    Cons

As an intern, I received a perfect performance review but was not extended an offer. Instead, they asked me to come back during the school year and continue working as an intern.

    Advice to Management

    Continue seeking 360 feedback.

    Pros

    T. Rowe Price is one of the friendliest companies I've worked for. The company really seems to care about its employees and gives great benefits. The tuition reimbursement is great - unlike other companies, there's no limit to the amount of money you can be reimbursed. There are many chances for advancement, as well. T. Rowe actually encourages employees to switch positions every so often, and even has an internal website with job postings. Also, they often allow alternative work schedules and allow employees to work from home occasionally.

    Cons

I am in an entry level position, but interned with T. Rowe Price and several other companies before. T. Rowe Price didn't seem to take this into consideration when they gave me my offer, which was on the low side.

    Advice to Management

I don't have an opinion about senior management.

    Pros

    T. Rowe Price marketing is full of smart people. Most have strong past experience and/or MBAs. While you are expected to deliver, you can have a good work/life balance (if you choose to). You are empowered and expected to make decisions. However, when you make mistakes you are not drug through the mud. There is oversight from sr management, but you are given a great deal of ownership. There is little turnover and people remain in their roles longer than at other growth organizations. This enables you to truly become a subject matter expert. Finally, T. Rowe Price is one of, if not the most, ethical company in their industry. It's an organization well respected in the community and within the industry.

    Cons

Not a growth organization, limited opportunity for advancement, MBA all but required to be hired into Marketing

    Advice to Management

    Communicate more

While the salary is mediocre, the benefits are outstanding! Work/Life balance is wonderful and promotional opportunities are great. Anyone who says otherwise is taking a narrow view over the recent economic crisis (of course there weren't many promotional opportunities when business was down!). This is a great place to learn how things are done well in the finance world!

    Cons

Mediocre salary and, in some areas, there is some lacking professionalism amongst associates.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing things the way you have been...

    Pros

Great people and benefits. The work life balance is also nice. There is a strong support system and plenty of resources to help you do your job. It is a great company to work for.

    Cons

The salaries do not seem as competitive as they potentially could be but the wide range of benefits do make up for that.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing! Management at T. Rowe Price seems to truly care about the people and their development.

    Pros

It's a good place to intern and get real world experience, and the managers and your team are very helpful

    Cons

Sometimes the work can get boring and tedious, and it's especially bad when everyone is too busy witht their own work to help.

    Advice to Management

Hire better human resources people because they don't do their job very well, and are terrible at getting back to people.

The investment personnel are really dedicated to outperforming their benchmarks and relevant indexes and putting the clients' interests first. People that work in different asset classes are very willing to offer insights to you, and there's a lot of communication back and forth if you're willing to seek it out.

    Cons

One downside is that by not being based in New York, you have to travel farther to attend company meetings and industry conferences as opposed to taking the subway from your office.

    Advice to Management

We should continue to push international expansion so that we can be viewed as a more global asset management firm and really grow assets under management.

    Pros

Great entry level job. I got hired straight out of college for a $40k+ job that is great experience and a great resume builder.

    Cons

Only downside that I have seen is that there is an abundance of young people which gives it the feel of a high school. In short it doesn't seem like many people stay with the company for their entire career.

    Advice to Management

The benefits are good but could be better. I think employee stock options instead of an employee stock purchase program would be a better boost to morale.

    Pros

    1) Great opportunity for exposure to other departments of the company.
    2) Opportunity to achieve series 7 and 66 licenses.
    3) Visible to managers tri-site.

    Cons

Dealing with high call volume can be tedious, and dealing with high value client's that expect you to do everything can be annoying and tiresome.

    Advice to Management

Always make it known how you see yourself progressing with the company.
