    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

    T. Rowe Price is a stable company with good benefits and a pleasant work environment. The company has a service culture which is unmatched by most in the financial services industry. The training opportunities are top notch. Former T. Rowe Price employees are well respected for their knowledge throughout the industry. I received training that allowed me to move straight into a senior level consulting postion when I left the firm. I very much enjoyed the time I spent working there.

    Cons

The pay is on the low end of the financial service sector scale. Upward mobility is limited in most postions. The tie between performance and pay needs to be strengthened.

    Advice to Management

I would look for ways to increase pay and advancement opportunities for employees and better tie pay to performance.

    Pros

Great benefits, incredibly dedicated and motivated employees. We put out a well-respected and quality service and take a conservative approach. It's easy to work someplace where you respect the people you work with and the service you provide your customers.

    Cons

It can be a bit slow to move -- the good side of this is that we are collaborative in most all that we do, but it tends to slow process down.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing.

    Pros

Management in my department was helpful and communicative. The work-life balance is there (in most departments). Intern pay is very competitive.

    Cons

As with any investment management company, there are a lot of monotonous back-office jobs.

    Advice to Management

Thanks for not following the sheep into the tech stocks or real estate asset bubbles.

    Pros

    Benefits, hands down.
It's also a great place to learn about the finance business and after you've put your grunt work in you can definitely move ahead.
It's a young workforce so you definitely get the feeling that you can move ahead.

    Cons

It has a very corporate culture, even though it is a bit more laid back than most. There are still a lot of silly rules.
I don't feel that they compensate well enough, and because of the that they tend to get less quality associates than other firms in the area.

    Advice to Management

Increase the amount of communication and integration between departments relative to customer service.

    Pros

Great benefits package, a good place to get your foot in the door in the financial services industry. The company has been around a long time and have remained true to their core values and conservative nature in the investment industry. Before the economic meltdown, there were many opportunities to move around the firm and I'm sure those doors will open up as things get better. Even with the current economic situation, the company still promotes employee self growth through behavior learning and hard skills training classes.

    Cons

Compensation is on the low end and the great benefits package they tout aren't that valuable if your young, healthy and don't have a family. Its absurd that a company of this size doesn't offer free gym membership to the on site fitness center.

    Advice to Management

Communication between groups seems to be lacking, stronger lines of communication between groups would lead to more work efficiency.

  8. "Not a bad place to get your foot in the door."

    Pros

Benefits package is amazing you probably won't find a better one. People are generally easy to work with and management legitimately cares.

    Cons

The catch to the amazing benefits is that your take home pay is less. At the end of the day no matter how in depth the calls may be it's call center work.

    Advice to Management

Being conservative in regards to your investments has served you well, however in some ways that conservative nature throughout the running of the company hinders associates.
