I worked at T. Rowe Price (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits with the company and you learn a lot.

    Cons

Managers are not always the best for departments. When you have a bad manager if refelects a lot worse on you. If you get firedbecause of bad managers they will spread rumors about you.

    Advice to Management

Hire better managers who are a good fot for the department and who will be at work.

    Good Pay for an intern.
    Lots of hours
Potential for a full time job

    Cons

Low starting salary as an entry level analyst
    Boring Work

I worked at T. Rowe Price full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I had great coworkers, the benefits are amazing (although it seems they are going to change possibly), lovely space, lake to walk around.

    Cons

    Low paying for industry average
There are a lot of bad managers!
Unreachable timelines that made the bottom managers look horrible because the top managers were giving the executives ridiculous timelines.
The top executive in my department was a total chop. He just would chop people for no reason just to do it.
Project management was horrendous all the way around T. Rowe

    Advice to Management

    Change Everything

I worked at T. Rowe Price full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, wonderful co-workers. I really enjoyed most of my time at TRP. Life is great there as long as the market is stable and the business is good. If either shake, watch out.

    Cons

Overly political. The organization cannot make decisions. Accountability varies. No work/life balance.

    Advice to Management

You're burning out your best and most dedicated people.

    I worked at T. Rowe Price full-time

    Pros

    Excellent benefits
Good company ethos - they don't make money unless their clients do
A lot of smart dedicated people

    Cons

Beware of company politics - the truth is not always welcome

    Advice to Management

Re-implement 260 reviews for managers and give the results credence. Take a look at HR and their ability to arbitrate disputes.

I worked at T. Rowe Price full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great people, convenient location (Owings Mills), and excellent benefits.

    Cons

Despite developing an integrated enterprise strategic plan in 2016 the execution of the plan seems disjointed. Perhaps the significant change in C-suite and senior leadership has resulted in a non-cohesive vision. Communications to associates continues to decline.

    Advice to Management

Reconnect on the ISP and see where there are different views, resolve the differences, and communicate!

    I worked at T. Rowe Price full-time

    Pros

The culture among associates was amazing and a great opportunity for growth with in the company

    Cons

Beware it may not be all that its all hyped up to be in the interview. Also there is a slight disconnect between supervisors and associates as far as expectations for associates.

  8. "Awesome co-workers, awesome bosses, great company, but salary is too low for admins"

    StarStarStarStarStar
    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Everyone is very nice and they treat everyone with respect.

    Cons

Applying for positions inside the company, HR never contact you period there is no chance for advancement. When someone leaves they already know who will be taking that position. And they need to up the salary for admins.

I have been working at T. Rowe Price full-time

    Pros

Great benefits, amazing 401k, coworkers are friendly.

    Cons

Micromanaging, employees and leadership in the Tampa office have such a long tenure, that there is built up anger & tension due to lack of movement. That also adds to the micromanaging because why boost morale when you've been a supervisor for 10 years and aren't looking to go elsewhere. I guess it's fun to treat your employees like children.
They pay is not as high as our competition, and getting bonuses in a realm outside of "standard performer" are unrealistic.
It's hard being a working parent when overtime is 2+ hours. "Find another daycare" has been said by leadership to their employees.

    Advice to Management

Maybe not micromanage and dissect everything. Show that you actually care and trust them. More flexibility. Doing all of that will lead to a boost in morale and happier employees who don't leave for Raymond James.

I have been working at T. Rowe Price as a contractor

    Pros

-People are great to work with and its great for a work life balance.

    Cons

The initial description of the role can be deceiving. Lots of unnecessary process and admin work involved as the rules are made by the teams in the US.

    Advice to Management

Separate the US and UK workflow to increase efficiencies.
Be more honest about the daily tasks involved during the interview process.
