I have been working at TAM International full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good atmosphere. Great co-workers. Still operates as if a small company. Does not watch your every move. Good pay. Okay benefits. Treats employees well.

    Cons

Very slow paced work load. I find a lot of things that need to be setup properly for a company that has grown to this size. Still operates as a small company. Still gives management bonus' even during salary freeze. Employees are too relaxed and not willing to change how things are done.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

The small, "family-owned" business atmosphere can be a positive thing, and in many ways allows for employee freedom and growth within the company. It also allows for exposure to all areas of processes and departments.

    Cons

The small, "family-owned" business atmosphere can also contribute to negative aspects of the work experience. Product line and personnel issues are often not addressed or corrected, leading to an overall weakened integrity of the management structure.

    Advice to Management

Employees should be treated with more respect. Their amount of value to the organization should be apparent through management actions, overall treatment, and reflected accordingly via compensation and benefits.

    Pros

The company knows what it does well, and is effective at carrying out its goals. I worked in the engineering department, and enjoyed the culture of the people I interacted with. The company had a number of seminars to keep employees up to speed with the company's developments and to allow broad, focused input on the issues it faced. The management all had great attitudes and were willing to mentor and train me during my warning. Everything was accomplished at a high level of quality and professionalism. There were also events outside of work for employees to socialize and get to know one another.

    Cons

Some of the expectations regarding duties were not communicated as clearly as would be desired. The company is narrowly focused in a particular segment of the hydraulic fracturing industry, which could be a turn-off for some.

    Advice to Management

A forum to allow additional input could help, as would a broader perspective on how TAM can diversify its product lines. Fluctuations in the industry took a serious toll on employees.
