I worked at TAWA Supermarket full-time

    Pros

Everyone in the office was really friendly and willing to help. The company's culture is a mixture of Chinese and American. It's quite unique.

    Cons

You might need to get your hands on something not included in your job duties... But I mean, look at the bright side, it's a learning process!

I have been working at TAWA Supermarket part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    They have good benefits
    Less hassle works

    Cons

Only limited benefits since they won't give you full time not unless they like you or when you really talk to the management about it.

    Advice to Management

I just hope that they would consider those people who wants to get paid vacations like they really want to work for it not just only to choose when they want them. I do understand that only a few people gets that but just like me, who wants to get a paid vacation in the future and I keep on talking to the one who normally assigns people to work about me getting full time but he normally walks away and doesn't want to talk about it though.

I have been working at TAWA Supermarket full-time

    Pros

CEO had the right mission and vision one year ago now seems to be reverting back to the old ways.

    Cons

The CFO and all the other employees who have been there (asian) have the final say and they are valued more than anyone helping improve current conditions. Suggestions are asked but never considered if you are not part of the older generation that has been there for years.

    Advice to Management

What happened to your vision and mission Jonson?

I worked at TAWA Supermarket full-time

    Pros

Despite the mid-size chain the company is, the department I worked in was very small, there were lots of opportunities and responsibilities that would not be given to someone as inexperienced as I was. I learned a lot and many of my coworkers are wonderful people to work with.

    Cons

There is this large gap between the pioneers that helped build this company and the administration. Many of the older generation did not like changes. They also pay under market average and have less benefits than similar sized companies. (also partly due to the older generation unwilling to have the youth earn more than they did when they started)

    Advice to Management

It has been a few years since I've worked with Tawa and from the outside, the company seems to have improved. Company culture is very important and I understand it is a hard battle, but I hope Tawa can change for the better as time progress.

I have been working at TAWA Supermarket full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Now, nothing!! 6 months ago was a different story.

    Cons

The reason I joined almost a year ago was because of the training and development, employee experience, and great people. Now it seems like everything is falling apart.

    Advice to Management

Bring the head HR lady back.
