I worked at TC Energy full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good compensation, some of the managers are excellent and allow for flexible work hours. Great ergonomic support and they provide you with great work hardware. Benefits package is very competitive.

    Cons

It is a gamble what kind of manager you wind up with. With the downturn in oil it is random who is going to stay and who goes. It is still a bit of an old boys club and in some groups it is the people kissing up to the management who are protected from layoffs.

I worked at TC Energy full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    * Great benefits (flex days, health & dental, PSU's, annual incentive, etc) * Depending on area, great people * in better times, lots of room for moving around the company

    Cons

    * executive leadership predominantly "old boys club" * layoffs inconsistent and not well thought through (decisions made at too senior a level)

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at TC Energy full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Company is currently doing major restructure that looks positive for the first time in a decade. Health and demtal benefits package is generous. Pay is reasonable and if you are an engineer the advancement oprions are numerous. Company is also pushing green initiatives with legitimate follow through. The number of female leaders is increasing every year and the company's general culture is very inclusive.

    Cons

There is still a large faction (about 50%) of the manager and higher level that have the "old boys club" mentality. The companies HR department and programs have zero teeth and therefore in a difficult situation, managers always win. The tolerance for innapropriate behaviour that I have witnessed and been subject to over 10 years is appalling. Working in some departments is a dream and others a hellish nightmare. Administrative and business analyst roles are often treated like second class citizens: advancement and compensation are dramatically biased against these areas.

    Pros

Good pay Good place to learn a lot at The people you work with tend to be awesome to work with Medium benefits

    Cons

Boys club mentality There's a massive communication gap between the average worker and the upper management Hide their news until it's already been rumored out by everyone Departments tend to fight against each other for power

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at TC Energy for less than a year

    Pros

Great colleagues (coworkers) to work with. Always willing to teach and share ideas. Great location downtown. In a nutshell, "employee relations = good; management relations = poor".

    Cons

No opportunities for career growth. Some teams are better managed than others. Management is full of people from the old boys club. Hardwork is neither encouraged nor rewarded. Decision making takes like forever, with no clear accountabilities on who makes decision.

I have been working at TC Energy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Some really smart people in the ranks. If you're not concerned about climbing the corporate ladder you can find work to keep you occupied. Benefits are OK. Some travel opportunity.

    Cons

The corporate structure is a joke. No one knows who does what. Projects are always delayed. Managers are among the worse I have ever seen. Way too many layers. We think we're inovative, but we really are not. Senior leadership is an old boys club.
