I have been working at TCU part-time

    Pros

TCU definitely tries to add "purple carpet" customer service to all aspects of the campus

It can be difficult to keep up with the busy work culture

Greater communication would be very beneficial

I worked at TCU full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent benefits for faculty and staff: medical insurance, retirement account, tuition benefit for employee and family members. Friendly staff to work with, excellent library, great team spirit. Generous holidays.

    Cons

Salary on the lower end. For classified staff, some departments have lower chances for advancement so there is a tendency for staff who want to remain at TCU to move from department to department for a better paying position.

I have been working at TCU full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Gives an opportunity to get better at public speaking, as well as gives an opportunity to try to get students engaged and interested in a subject they might not find fascinating at first.

    Cons

The only con is that teaching labs and grading labs often interferes with studying and doing research, but as long as you manage time well it is not an issue.

I have been working at TCU full-time

    Pros

Good people to work with. Many are very nice and the atmosphere is wonderful.

    Cons

If you are a minority, which I am, it is very difficult working here. The people treat minorities very differently and in some cases make it hard to move up. Disappointing.

    Advice to Management

Encourage and develop diversity and inclusiveness, don't just preach it.
