I worked at TD for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good growth potential up to assistant manager. Have to be regional managers pet to move up from that position. Decent benefits plan and good programs in place to reduce operational load so you can focus on the customers

    Cons

Have to be regional managers pet to move up from Assistant Managers position. Unfair practice of aggressively ramping up goals for performing stores and reducing goals for underperforming stores. High performers are burning out and the under performers are not accountable for their fair share.

    Advice to Management

Pay closer attention to how and who regional managers are promoting. Increasingly focus is on sales growth with unrealistic and ramped up goals.

Current Employee - Assistant Store Manager in Tampa, FL

I have been working at TD full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Get to take care of the branch with little to no micro managing

    Cons

you are responsible for everything yet you don't get to make the decisions. Store managers are oblivious on how to run the store and they get all the credit when the store is successful but the ASM gets all the blame when things go bad.

I have been working at TD full-time

    Pros

Many opportunities for advancement. If you excel here you can excel and exceed expectations at any other bank. Wonderful benefits and PTO.

    Cons

Understaffed and expect you to do the job of 3 employees while raising sales goals and expecting you to meet unrealistic expectations. Pay is low for the position and work expected.

I have been working at TD full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

there isn't any. They will abuse you until you are dry.

    Cons

There is a reason they have been in a lot of employees lawsuits. In addition, they do not supply a centralized training to achieving your next promotion. Therefore leaving a lot of room for errors and lasting a long time in the same position. Lost of favoritism. Your hard work goes unnoticed and the pay is horrible. They rather not invest a good pay increase on their hardworking loyal employees but rather paying better to externals….. Oh, and if you ever negotiate your pay, don't hang on to that promise, even if you have it in writing. HR will make you dance for months before (if they do) honor the increase. Show interest in getting promoted? No problem, TD likes to dance on that too. Management will set goals in which you will achieve time and time again, you will apply for opening, 2 years later you are still in the same role. This company is completely screwed up on what is important. This is reason why they have a huge turnaround rate and every location is extremely short staff.

    Advice to Management

Stop being petty and giving employees false hopes. Give more in class training, invest in your employees.
