I have been working at TD full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great environment, benefits, and team. The company pays well

    Cons

The company do not provide many monetary incentives to achieve goals. There is a lack of consistency among the TD stores.

    Advice to Management

Management team should consider to have some type of procedure to ensure all the branches follow the same rules.

I worked at TD full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Canadian ethos makes this a very nice place to work relative to wall street bulge brackets

    Cons

Theres a downside to the niceness -- it becomes very sterile and hyper corporate -- they were having some difficulty keeping people initially when they first entered the region (northeast US). Also, not a great place to be if you do not have a lot of technical experience going into it -- they did not have any training for new folks when I first got there though I am certain that's changed.

I worked at TD part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good hours, friendly staff, chance for hands on exposure

    Cons

New manager came to ruin everyone's lives and pushed personal agenda.

    Advice to Management

Don't screw over long time employees and literally make them cry in the office

I worked at TD full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I had a great team to work with. Good location that was always busy which made the day go by

    Cons

No work life balance, unrealistic sales goals, no support from upper management. Worked 60+ hours a week with my schedule often changing without notification or care if I had planned appointments on my day off

    Advice to Management

Take a look at the turnover in your branches. Happy employees don't leave.

I have been working at TD full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Great Brand
    - Friendly Co-workers (for the most part)
    - many ways to advance (provided you work hard and aren't afraid to network)

    Cons

    - lower pay
    - iffy work/life balance
    - high variance from store to store due to inconsistent manager quality (this is the big one)

    Advice to Management

Promote the right people, not just the people you know. Pay your tellers more to prevent turnover and preserve branch IQ. Having to train new people over and over grates on mid-management and inhibits their own growth. Overall though, good company with mostly friendly employees.

I have been working at TD full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A lot of PTO, excellent Sr management and Great place to network with customer. The TD group makes you feel appreciated and important but...

    Cons

In the store there is a lot of Micromanaging. I felt like I work for a Military concentration camp and this part really disappoints me. The Store and assistant manager doesn't care about your development and learning opportunities. They are not coherent because they want you to act and think like a customer but they don't do it. They ask us to use the - bump it up system- when you are not sure about something but when you are going to ask them they just act like if you are bordering them. Even their face is like that.

    Advice to Management

You have to use a 360 evaluation for all the team including assistant and store manager. So we can see in both sides so many opportunities to improve as a team.

I have been working at TD full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Local, coworkers are great. Customers are exceptional and loyal. They have some good training programs and offer notary services.

    Cons

Promised raises but only once a year cost of living, below 2%. Corporate announces changes only to have local management state it is at their discretion. Verbally abused by local management. Pay is low and morale lower. Not paid for all the hours worked, but will threaten to dock you.

    Advice to Management

Be consistent and have corporate rules across the board not management discretion. Have intervals for raises not once a year cost of living. Have management accountable for bad behavior.
