  5. "Customer Service Representative"

    StarStarStarStarStar
Current Employee - Customer Service Representative in Hartford, CT

I have been working at TD part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Flexible schedule for college students - Decent pay for a part-time job before moving to something meaningful - Great addition to resume

    Cons

    - Work environment is more of a playground than professional setting - Stagnant salaries that do not adjust to performance - Most employees are "cross-trained" which leads to inconsistency and directly affects sales goals as a result - "Be Legendary" program requires all employees to lobby-lead(greet customers in the lobby) for hours per shift rather than taking care of tasks that are actually important. Lobby Leading is mandated for all hours of operation, meaning that even if there are no customers inside, an employee is still required to stand there for hours on end twiddling their thumbs. - Computer hardware is extremely old(late 90's) and internal software is just as out-dated(we run Microsoft Office 2008) which is seriously laughable - There are often times no internal lines to call for customer support, instead; such as with contacting online banking, employees are forced to make calls to the same customer contact number with average wait times of 20-30 mins

    Advice to Management

    - Update computer hardware - Stop wasting time and money on lobby leading, it's ineffective and there are better ways to retain and expand customer relationships with the bank - Treat your employees like adults and pay them accordingly - Stop requiring platform-based employees to work shifts as tellers - Stop basing bonus pay outs on unmanageable terms, such as angry customer complaints that are not validated

I worked at TD full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great benefits and paid time off

    Cons

HR and management doesn't care for their employees, only themselves.

    Advice to Management

Not have favouritism. No reason why it should be a males vs females and hostile work environment. This is something that management created. Males get the best schedules, all the accounts, and when the males want to continue talking up a storm when there's customers who need help, they just expect the females to do everything. Management should take the time to listen to their employees and not feel because they are speaking out about these concerns that they are a threat and should be black balled out of a company that they truly loved.....until now. I lost all respect especially for HR who discriminated me saying that I must suffer from short term memory or have some other type of mental problems because I can't remember a particular transaction thoroughly from 2 months ago. They don't even consider the amount of people, issues and transactions we deal with on a daily. The company and its management will not support you.

I worked at TD full-time for less than a year

    Pros

There are none. I think they are going to close after they transfer all management to Canada.

    Cons

They steal their customers money. One disabled customer they trick into putting his workers compensation check (which is all he had ) into a Relationship Account then pressured him into an appointment to talk about investing. He insisted this was all he had and had to last him for the next 30 years when he came back his balance was zero. When he didnt come to the appt he ended up with a zero balance. He brought his wife with him to find out were his money was and they told her he spent it. He must be living a double life she doesn't know about.

    Advice to Management

Stop living by Stanford's Ponzi scheme. Oh, That's the billionaire they backed for 20 years when no one else would, because the other banks knew he was a con artist. He is in prison but first he stole 7 billion from customers.
